- Tasha replies to Tasha| 1 replythank you so very much I'm just now receiving this or looking at it rather I ended up going down to the actual office but prior to that I did get in touch with someone like someone answered and was asking them was this you know they're the actual Social Security office they said yes I did go on the internet to get the information and someone had put up I think they hacked into my phone put up a false Social Security page on there but if you scrolled all the way down to the very very bottom in fine print it said we are not affiliated in any way with the Department of Social Security so by this point I had already given them my social security number and they been said the computers or something was down and told me to call back at a later time now usually the automated system tells you that not a person so I told the person I said you know what this is fraudulent I can feel it I'm going to call your corporate and they got very antsy you can tell that something was definitely Wrong by the tone of your voice and they asked me what do you mean corporate it sounded like some young not too educated person I don't want to be stereotypical I am but yeah you have any suggestions on what I can do so that I can prevent identity theft and that was like 2 days ago thank you so much
- TheRealSeriously® replies to TashaUh...there's this nifty thing called a 'web search', where you could find your answers out instantly instead of asking questions that A, will most likely never get seen and B, doesn't make it look like your talking to yourself

- I work with them replies to TashaThis is the correct number. If you call them, they will need you to give them your Social Security Number. This is the number you call when you are disabled but you want to work. The only reason they asked for your social security number is because you called them. It would be different if they called you and then asked. When you call them, they have to verify who you are. Many government offices will do the same.
