Message left was from ADT asking me to call back asap for a failed system check.   Thinking it's a possible scam, I called back on a different ADT number and the guy said that the number does belong to them.

That doesn't mean it wasn't a scam. Scammers spoof legitimate phone numbers all the time.

Just had the same happened to me. The call was “from ADT”, left a message asking to call them back at this number 1-855-844-8435 to do a manual system connection check.  I called to ADT on the contact number from their web site, and they said they don’t own this number. Probably some scam calls trying to get passwords or other information.

A recorded message “from ADT”, asking me to call them back at this number 1-855-844-8435 to do a "manual system connection check".  I too called ADT's support number from their web site. They said they don’t use such a message nor do they use that number. They said some scam callers trying to get my ADT security password and/or other personal information.

Just got a recorded message “from ADT CANADA”, asking me to call them back at this number 1-855-844-8435 to do a "manual system connection check". Also remember I already got the same message in the past a year or so ago. Interesting enough, I recently (a couple of days ago) was in contact with real ADT Support and right after I am getting this scam recorded message. The same happened in the past, this scam call came after my communication with ADT Support.

We received an automated call from this number.  It was a genuine call from our security provider, ADT, about a fault they had detected in our system

Just got the same message.  I looked at ADT's website and didn't see this number and wasn't going to call it - first thought was to call ADT's real number (the one in the phone book) but figured I'd google the number first and found this thread.  Glad I did.

Had a voicemail supposedly from ADT on both my telus landline and cell this morning with the same message and the advice to call back on 1 855 844 8435. Instead I called a known ADT number and verified with an agent that ADT had never sent me such a message. So yes appears to be a scam

The last posting here was almost a year ago but it appears that this is still going on.  I got TWO calls from the number, one on a landline and one on my cellphone, both with the same message. Glad I checked it out online.  Thanks to all contributors.
