Total scam bottom feeders.   Don't be pressured. Hang up and don't ever give them a penny.   Illegal, unethical and high pressure low life's.

They also call from 855-882-8128. I got the same call from both numbers, from BOC,saying I had a payday loan deposited to an account that I had closed 2 months before the supposed deposit. They called my work and my cell. They wouldn't tell me what it was about until I verified my ss#, which I refused.  Right. Not happening. They finally told me what it was about and I never took out a payday loan. I wound up hanging up. Now they just leave threatening messages when I reject the calls.  Scam.

I just received a call from this # also.  She gave her name and the co BOCC or something.  She proceeded to verify my mailing address which I refused to give her.  She said there is a claim against me so I told her I would report her to the Federal Trade Commission and to stop harassing me.  This is a total scam.  Do not give out any of your personal information or verify any information over the phone.  Once they have this they can do some damage.  If it's legit, they should send you something formally through the mail; not over the telephone.

This "company" is such a joke! I have gotten tons of calls and voicemails from them regarding a "claim" that they have against me. The message I received today said they were just given the claim info today. Makes no sense considering they started calling me a few months ago saying the same thing. They even go as far as saying I will be arrested within 48 hours if I do not settle the claim! How low can people go?? It's pathetic!! If they call you, either ignore the call or answer and tell them to stop calling and threaten to report them.  DO NOT give them any info or verify anything.

I asked them to mail me info about the payday company I supposedly owed. I wanted the amount account number and name and number of the company. The guy got mad at me and refused to give me that info. Then he hung up on me. Total scam.

They just called my office and left a message requesting my company's protocol for employment verification and forwarding information.  I thought about calling them back but it's best to ignore them.  Like an earlier person mentioned, they change their number, try "bullying tactics" simply to scam you out of your money.  Foolishness that I don't have time for.  Thanks for all the posts clarifying these crooks.

I received a voicemail from the number again today.  This time the lady left her name Sandy Wilson and she left a claim number.  She said she needed to verify some information and for me to call her.  Said the information was left on her desk this morning and there are several claims against me.  I've never received anything in the mail and they change their numbers.  I called the number back several times and each time I got a different person - Stephanie in the processing dept. and Mike.  The last time nobody said anything; they just hung up.  I told them I would report them to the FTC and the call was being recorded.

Much as these crooks preach otherwise, a defaulted payday loan *IS NOT* ever considered "check fraud" by the courts. A PDL is *always* consumer credit. Consumer debt in America is *not* a criminal matter. Collectors do not need and cannot whistle up anyone with a badge and a gun to get themselves paid. Real law enforcers have trouble enough catching people who threaten lives and public safety, and they don't want another job chasing unproven penny-ante debts.

Never let bullies on the phone confuse extortion with debt collection. Honest debt collectors do not typically send their claims straight to a judge, and they don't take your ransom money to broker quick deals with so-called "process servers". There are no secretive "arbitrators", "assessment specialists", "detectives", "investigators", "mediators", or "prelitigation specialists". They are sweaty double-talking criminals with a script full of coercive remarks. Lawful debt collection is a process, not an ambush, and you are due a chance at each stage to raise a dispute. The agents' horrid threats are empty and their conduct is illegal. Do not reward lawbreakers with your money. Challenge them always, sue them if you can.

Have any of you had a payday loan that you actually defaulted on? I actually had one that I defaulted on, so when one of these places called I paid because I was scared to death. Now I'm getting places calling me where they r saying I need to pay on the same loan that I actually have a paid in full letter for.

Per the FDCPA, no one should pay any caller unless they MAIL - do not accept email or fax - proof of debt/proof your callers have the legal right to collect said debt.  Refusal to mail this documentation within five days of their first contact with you is a violation of federal law.  In other words, no written, verifiable proof mailed that you owe them money, do not pay!  More on this scam here:

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

    Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
    (202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.
