Called for my ex saying to call back and left phone 8558692155, left a believable message thought he was charged with something. They also called his mom. Who knows I gave them the last known phone number, but i dont even think it's right number. Oh well good luck spammers. Well played also.

Left a message saying his name was Mark Andrews.  They called for a family member I haven't spoken to in years.  Said  I was listed as an emergency contact, which has to be false.  They are just debt collectors googling and fishing for info.  I told them I have no contact with that family member and they said they will keep calling me until they pay their bill.  I hope they don't really scare people into believing their garbage.

Left a message saying that a legal document had been filed against 'me' but gave my brother's name, not mine. Sounded official with the whole "You have been served." Searched claim # and contacted brother - no such claim.

Most debt collectors will use a certain amount of pressure to convince you to pay the debt. After all, they often don't get paid unless you pay. • Says a Process Server  or Courier is coming with papers to sign
• Threatens to call / go to your place of employment
• Insists you have been notified, served or are non-compliant via phone message(s)
• Refuses to give a company name or verifiable Contact source
• Refuses to send proof of debt via US mail

A sure sign of a debt collection scam is a collector that wants to you to pay via wire transfer or another method that can't be traced. If the payment method can't be traced, you'll have a harder time getting the authorities involved.

If the creditor sounds completely foreign, or you know you never had an account with that business, there's a chance it's a scam. Never pay a collection you don't recognize. You have the right to request written proof of the debt from the debt collector before you send payment.

they called my job asking for the HR Department and ask for my name said that he had a paper to serve me and wanted to spare me the embarrassment of coming to my job he gave me this phone number 855-869-2155 and told me to call and ask for a release of force document and gave me a case number

Was this a scam or was this legit? I got a call today from this number left a name I never heard before and said they needed to serve within 24-48 hours. I've had my phone number for over a year so I don't know how they would get me mixed up with a total stranger. I called them back to Inform them of the voicemail and that they had the wrong persons phone number. They looked up the case number bringing up the same name that was left on my voicemail.
Anyway just wondering if these people are for real
