- Jake NethersThis is related to the other payday loan/law office threatening calls basically stating that a real person will come to my house and serve me with papers in 2 days time from today and that I need an ID as these are sealed documents "against" me. If they are "sealed" documents how do they know what they contain? This is bogus, and I've found other people who complained about the SAME thing, but different number.

- Tarheel80An unknown number called me and left a message saying they were in the area and coming by to serve some paperwork and left a number I could call and take care of it... However when u call that 855 number a recording answers and says its AAT company and if you have been served you can talk to a representative, however if you stay on the line it just hangs up on you...This has got to be bogus, because how to they know what address you are at....

- samehere| 1 replyYesterday A call was received from unknown number saying it was a courier and they needed to deliver sealed documents. They called another time and left a message saying that the papers would be received today from 1-3pm and that they were court related. They left this 855 number with a case ID number so I can get information related to this. I did not call the number but it seems is all about this as i am reading your comments. Same questions I ask myself....WTf!!!

was anyone ever served?? they really spoke to your HR dept Kim?? - WilsonI also received a call from this man stating that he would be by my house the next day between 1-3 with sealed documents and that I needed to have a picture Id when he arrives. BS i will not ...If you know me then you know exactly what I look like.
- Scared TishaI have also received the same call as everyone else. Told me they would me between 1-3 tomorrow to sign some legal documents and I better have a picture ID to identify it is me. I am freaking out to be honest bc I was also told by Todd Williams that I will go to jail if the debt dont' get paid. It just makes no sense to me!
- MzDanyalsI received the exact same call as a few of the other people on here.
This morning I received a call from a woman (sounds like the same woman I ignored threatening me last week) stating she was a private courier. She said she was working for lawyer groups and she had received a sealed envelope with my name, address, and phone number on it. She told me I needed to get a stop order in order to prevent her from coming out to serve me with the papers. She could not tell me the name of the law firm she received the papers from because it was just a plain manilla sealed envelope. She could not tell me the name of her company because she was just a private contractor. She could not assure me that the number on my phone, 336-248-6069, was her number and that I would be able to reach her. She claimed she would contact me on Monday to see what my plans were for this matter.
Im not interested in paying something I cannot prove is mine, something that I believe is false, or something people have waited for over 5 years to contact me about so they can all stop calling.- Caller: Courier Service

- Ben Webb| 1 replyThese monsters are just out of line bill collectors, the company is owned by a former Convict with an extensive criminal record, do not give them any information, and do not pay them anything. Tell them you are going to report them if they do not stop the illegal harassment.

- Alfalfa replies to Ben WebbConsumers across the country report that they're getting telephone calls from people trying to collect on loans the consumers never received or on loans they did receive but for amounts they do not owe. Others are receiving calls from people seeking to recover on loans consumers received but where the creditors never authorized the callers to collect for them. So what's the story?
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:
is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.
Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>
http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt076.shtm - TJI just received a voicemail from a male saying that he was in the area today (Monday) and would stop by my residence or by my place of employment Wednesday if I didn't give them a call back to sign some document and would require a signature by my supervisor.... Well, I called back and I got transferred twice before I decided to hang up. I wish they would come to my job because I would lose it for kicking their so-and-so right in the front lobby.
Good luck you guys with these threatening creditors and wish me some as well LOL- Caller: CMS
- Ed replies to NervousI just got same call. I asked them their name,address,phone number. It went silent for a few secs, the man said 2550 hesitated then said Sir, (trying to reflect the conversation to the sealed papers) never offered the address etc. I heard a kid in the background and each question I asked there was hesitation. I had a call like this before and just blasted out, see you in 2 days and I'll have the cops with me and hung up. No one came. I talked with my states attorney general have gave him the phone number then I blocked the number.
The call was for my wife on my cell phone not hers. I'm just a rider
You could ask where their office is located so you can pick it up. If they do commit to saying a place, call and confirm.
I see it this way if someone is going to deliver any papers to you, they would just knock on your door and have ID of some sort or they have a law enforcement official with them. Still have fear, call your local police department. - DonReceived same message as reported above. I owe no one and retired with my only income being Social Security. I also have had no credit card for 10 years since going on disability from service a connected injury.
Please report this company to your local television station and they will investigate. - KimChicago replies to NervousThey called MY JOBS MAIN OFFICe. He never Called hack after they asked for his full Jame and to FAX over a copy of his credentials. Ge
- CheriI just received this call. So irritating as this is now the second time we are getting calls from these scammers!! The man said to call 877-221-8253 with a bogus case number. Just as IRS would never email you documents, I'm pretty sure someone that's due to "serve" you won't give you a heads up that they are doing it. Personal information is too easy for these people to get online, last time, they called to harass me, my mother in law, my father in law, my sister in law and my parents looking for information on my husband. I went to the police and they did also provide me with Collector's Complaint Hot Line: 888-535-1556. They reassured me that it was a scam and not to give any personal information. Next time the guy called, I flipped out on him and told them point blank they are not getting a damn dime or any paperwork from me. After I flipped, hadn't heard from them again. Glad I had that experience though because now I am much more aware of these stupid scammers. Just don't give them any information!

- KimI have a voice message saying a claim is being filed against me and She will be at my house Wednesday for a signature. She said her name is Isabel Diaz and I should call the person who file the claim for more information. Which she did not give a company name or even what company she was calling from. So today she called back and this voice message said she was coming to my house tomorrow for some signatures on this claim she is following through with. I have no idea what or who this company is. I haven’t received anything in the mail or emails of anything I might owe. The number she left was 877-350-2899. I didn’t return the call since I have no idea who this company is and since she didn’t give or leave any company info.
