Called and tried to say he was from Charter/Spectrum, claiming I owed a $300 balance for a "service call deposit" and needed to clear it up over the phone.  He spoke awful English so it was hard to understand him.  I said I would go into one of the Spectrum stores to clear it up, and he didn't want me to do that and insisted I pay him over the phone or he would cancel my service.  I hung up on him and called Spectrum directly.  As I suspected, no balance was due, the number he called from is not one of theirs, and it was definitely a scam.

Lies! Not Spectrum at all! If you pay, you are being scammed.

Called saying he was from AT&T/DirecTV, wanting to upgrade my signal/equipment?  Very hard to understand, due to the heavy Indian accent.  Wanted me to be in front of my TV so he could access something, told him I did not have the time right now and he provided his direct number 855.888.8418.  Called back the # provided, wasn't AT&T/DirecTV, some voicemail, requesting I leave a voicemail.  Called a second time after reading these posts and I said I was calling regarding Charter/Spectrum and they were very quick to assist me, no mention of DirecTV.  I told him my name was, "Jimmy Johnson," HAHAHAHA and low and behold he pulled up my account and was eager to assist me.  My name is not Jimmy Johnson and the initial number they called from was a local number, which was disconnected?  Stupid Scammers!!!
