Got a call from them too saying i would be served papers tomorrow

I got the same call too. They asked to verify my information but it was from places I lived/work from 10 yrs ago.

Got a call sayingi to call this number because of attempts to serve legal papers and I'm on hold now. Is this a scam? Any legal info should be public record, correct? This is annoying.

Yes, if they have a summons to serve you it would be filed at your local clerk of courts offices. Tell your caller that you'll be contacting the clerks offices & checking to see if anything has been filed in your name.
 Debt is a civil matter, never criminal, so when your caller tries to pull the old "it won't show up because this is a criminal matter" routine tell your caller to go pound sand. If your caller claims that they "don't have the paperwork yet but they'll serve you tomorrow" tell your caller to go piss up a rope. A summons needs to be processed, fees paid & be signed by a judge or, in a very few states, a magistrate. The procedure takes time.
Last, and MOST importantly, a person NEVER gets a call warning them that they're about to be served. NOT EVER! Regardless of what you might hear from how ever many sources, people are NOT called ahead of time by process servers or deputies when they're going to be served! That's the way it is & the only fools that say otherwise are the scum that use the ploy of being bogus process servers to try to collect invalid/bogus debt.

This is a complete scam! They claim they are from W & W Associates. I have worked in the collection industry in the past so I know what is legit and what is not legit. I double checked with the court of claims and I do not have any judgments or lawsuits filed against me. They are harassing my entire family about this so called summons. I am reporting them!!!!
