This number popped up on my screen and froze my computer.  Report said my laptop was infected and I should call this number to protect my security,  The number was supposedly from Microsoft.  Very irritating.

I received the same message. It’s virus related. Just use an antivirus cleaner to remove it.

Actually it isn't. It is loaded through an ad on a web page and is a temporary thing until you close out the browser.  This is why people should be using ad blockers.

‭(855) 900-1880‬ An alert popped up on my internet, saying my computer was infected and I should call the number listed. Passwords and account information would be stolen. I called the number and they wanted to gain access by remoting into my computer. I asked what company they were with and the first person wouldn’t tell me and the 2nd told me that they were a 3rd party contracted by Microsoft to fix these problems.

I have had this on my computer screen more than once with threatening message that my credit information is at risk and Microsoft will need to shut down my computer if I do not call the number. Why is this this not being addressed?

Scam call...looks official....said I needed to spend $599 to fix problem.....Called Mcafee and they checked my computer (they can go in as a secondary) if you have a paid subscription..... Nothing was wrong.....complete scam !!!

Pop up told me to call this number. Obviously fake, closed with ctrl alt delete.
