They were trying to charge me $299.95 cents for a computer clean up. Had not used my labtop for almost a year and I just used it recently. They were trying to charge me and if I called back it it would cost money.

Just got an alert that my week old computer had a virus and they wanted me to pay a fee to fix it. They wouldn't give me the name of their company.

Check this number with Goggle and read the comments from others who wrote.  It is a scam. Check my PC with McPhee and no  problems.

I clicked on a site that was supposed to contain educational printouts and these people completely hijacked my browser. I cannot even shut down or reboot.

My screen went to a "virus alert" and numerous popups came up with a recorded voice repeating the msg "Your computer has been attacked by a virus!"  Very real-looking yet I have seen this kind of thing before.  It would not allow me to shut down the popups or my browser.  I had to turn my computer off.  I ran a scan on MS Security Essentials and my PC is fine.

My computer seized up and I had a blue screen with the initials BSOD--not the way a real BSOD looks--and a notice to call this number for the Help Desk.

I had the same voice and screen freeze as described above. I shut down the browser from my control panel and ran a virus scan with Avast. My computer is clean. This is a scam! Don't call the number!!

I feel so stupid.  I got this alert and my screen went to BSOD error.  I had never seen this before and couldn't get out of it.  The alert kept saying call this number immediately.  I was given what I thought was Microsoft Company name and the man said he was a qualified tech.  He said my windows 10 upgrade wasn't installed correctly and that caused my protection program not to work properly.  I am not computer smart other than using it and I didn't even think about it being a scam . I guess I misunderstood and thought this was Microsoft.  Now Im scared that my files were hacked.  Who do we report this to?

I have gotten the same message a lot from different sites.  Instead of hard booting your computer off just hold down your Ctrl and Alt buttons then delete button - Start Task Manager - select the task - End Task.  This will close the app and take you back to your desktop without shutting down.
I wish there was a way to block them but I have no idea.

SCAM. yes just like all above comments this number was goven as part of pop ups and a voice recording telling me my computer had a virus. After shutting down my computer and running custom virus scans the next day it came up all clear. Other users say once they called they were asked for $200 or more to Clean their computers.

I just got a pop-up that looked like it was from  "Windows" telling me my computer has a virus.  It says "Please visit your nearest Windows store or call (this number)"   I decided to look up the phone number before I did anything.  Glad I did.

Total, absolute, unabashed, criminal activity, showing a fake message and getting you to call a number.  Kiss your money goodbye, and most of your computer, too.  If this happens in Chrome, kill one process at a time until the bad one goes away, then try to remember what site you visited that caused it and never go there again.  Clipconverter.cc is one of those.

I am a computer guy. So when i get these popups I know there is no virus, I was bored and wanted to call them to see what the deal was. Apparently these guys are somehow running as a legit business (I assume this, because instead of stealing your identity like a hacker, they just offer bogus tech support and legitimately charge you for it.) There needs to be something we can do to report these guys, come on. It's the tech age and snakes like these guys are taking advantage of the less tech savvy people out there. It disgusts me.
    These guys have
