- MikeJ| 1 replyIf you call back during non-business hours you get a message claiming to be Comcast.
I only recently rejoined the Comcast Customer Family 5 months ago with an Internet Only account.
After I missed a call that may have been an installation survey followup call (the installer was GREAT!) I did get a few "hangup calls from Comcast" -- which turned out to be a 3rd party call center trying to sell me XFinity TV Service. Seems they only get paid if they sell an upgrade, so they don't care if they make Comcast look bad by robo-calling repeatedly and not leaving a message.
I have changed my Cell Phone's default ring tone to a "silent ringtone" and give real contacts a real ringtone. I'm adding this number to my "Spam Comcast Promo" Contact (which has the previous 855-944-7106 number which now identifies the 3rd party company and says the number is no longer in service -- but to call the real Xfinity number).
I suspect this may be another 3rd Party contracted by Comcast to attempt to sell an XFinity upgrade - perhaps the X11 Internet TV Service un-bundled (but still overpriced and including worthless crap channels and overpriced sports channels I don't care about) from the regular overpriced XFinity Cable TV lineups filled with worthless crap channels and overpriced sports channels I don't care about.
I am in Chicago and did take up Comcast on their email and web site offers for StreamTV for $10 + $5 fee for the local digital channel that I can pull off the air. I am happy with that (the on-demand movies, TV shows on-demand, and HBO/HBO on demand included are great for the price) and I hope that they eventually offer a la carte channels that I would be willing to pay for (News - CNN, MSNBC, FauxNews, and maybe TNT, USA, the old SciFI, TCM, and AMC). If Comcast ever tried to transition StreamTV to an overpriced X11 bundle of channels I'd drop it and pay the $15 directly to HBO, fire up the DVR, and just watch Netflix & Amazon Prime movies.- Caller: Comcast (probably 3rd party call center)

- MikeJGot 2 voice mails toady -- one 2 seconds and one 5 seconds -- that said nothing.
Calling the number back from my VoIP phone the message now says they are Market Link, an authorized agent of Comcast, yada calling with information yada promotion yada.
Another Dialing for Dollars sweat shop call center using a predictive dialer so that they always have a person on the line for their next available minimum wage agent to try their scripted sales pitch.
If they are going to use a robo dialer to make the calls, they should at least figure out how to leave a voice mail message -- and never spam the same number again.- Caller: Market Link (spamming for Comcast)
- Call type: Telemarketer
- MikejAnother MarketLink (3rd party agent for Comcast) 7 second blank voicemail.

- Call type: Telemarketer
- MikeJAnother hangup call from MarketLink (authorized agent for Comcast).
According to Comcast's web site they have partnered with an Energy company yada yada yada. Now I'm wondering if that's why I'm getting these Dialing For Dollars calls -- and also uptick in the Energy Scam calls.
Off to talk to ComCrap's support about them seeming to have pimped out my contact information for 3rd party CRAP I have no interest in (like Energy from an Energy Company in Massachusetts that was fined for "slamming" customers using deceptive spam calls).- Caller: MarketLink
- Call type: Telemarketer
- MikeJAnother SPAM call from Market Link (an authorized agent of Comcast) where they didn't bother saying anything after getting connected to my voice mail.
I'm not bothering posting the calls where their Robo Dialer gets someone else on the line before my voice mail (and they don't have a minimum wage commission junkie ready for another call and they just hang up).- Caller: Market Link SPAM
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Lida S.Two calls in two days, no voicemail left. Added # to my phone's "auto-reject" list.
- Caller: not identified
- MidwesternerGot a call from this number, didn't pick up, no message left. Thanks, MikeJ above, for the info -- I am a Comcast customer and would just as soon NOT get their robo/sales calls. (Seems like the amount I pay for their service should *exempt* me from their promotional spam, rather than be included!!) Thanks, 800Notes!
- BHIt's just Comcast Xfinity trying to upgrade my service to the triple play package. I explained that I only use internet & have tv for the sole purpose of the double play discount, don't actually use the tv box they provided, am not switching my tv provider at all, and that I do not need home phone service as my roommate already has their own service installed. With all that info, he said thank you, that he was sorry to bother me, and then advised if i have Q's/issues to call Comcast cust svc. About a 4.5 min call, but super polite the whole time. Definitely nicer than most solicitors, that's for sure.
