- LaurieReceived a phone call marked unknown on caller ID. The person left a message saying I had one hour to call back. I ignored, then within a minute of listening, the unknown number appears. The woman answered said her name is Skylar Grace and she’s a process dispatch server for Johnston Law Firm. She states that I am going to be served papers for a civil or criminal complaint today. I kept questioning her, “What for? I haven’t gotten into any trouble.” She responded with, “I work for all sorts of law firms and it’s my job to call you to warn you about papers being served. You have a court date coming up.” I asked, “When? I haven’t received any certified mail via the post office which would be the first step, nor have I ever been informed of a court case.” She said, “Well someone is suing you and they are using the Johnston Law Firm.” I replied, “Where is the law firm located? What am I being sued for? And if it was criminal, papers aren’t served for a criminal case? What is your real name, what is your direct phone number, what is your work ID, who is your supervisor? And I’m not sure there is a Johnston Law Firm in my state.” She hangs up.
I call the NM Attorney General’s Office and was told that the call is a scam.- Caller: Process Dispatch Server for Johnston Law Firm

- Rather not sayI got the call from the unknown number, too. Woman said to call the number with the 'case number'. I called the number and the person named "James" was going to send an officer to my door to serve me with papers. Wouldn't say where he was working, which law firm he represented. I reported him to the Attorney General's Office to be investigated. You should too.
- Caller: They refused to say
- jimreceive a call said they were from County Dispatch looking for former employee. Told them no longer employed with us, still asked to leave message for former employ and asked to have them call the number and referred to a case number. Spoke to former employee said must be scam as they were not involved in any cases.

- Jenn| 1 replyI am in FL. This must be a scam as I also received a call from this number a hour and a half ago, but I was on the other line. They left a message with pretty much the same content as all of you. They did not say which law firm they were with but left the same call back number and a case file#.

- MJG replies to JennDid you know it is ILLEGAL to claim to be an attorney if they are not licensed?? REPORT - www.consumerfinance.gov & your state attorney general. Then block them!
- JohnSame as listed, County processor, never heard of a such thing. Firm, Kinda mean female voice. Sounded angry, frustrated or something to prove.
All these seem the same date, - JimSame (as Laurie above) today about an employee....sure sounded like a scam. Claimed to be a dispatch process server and when I kept pressing she hung up. Phone number was blocked but she gave this 855 number to call...
- Robb| 1 replySame as above. First call from Jessica Brown with process service dispatch riverside county. Then unknown call from Edward Blake. Edward very angry, abusive. He was very condescending and belligerent and hung up on me. He was threatening and was going to garnish my wages. He called back on my same number asking for HR department. DO NOT fall for this!
- MJG replies to RobbLet your employer know about the call. Do not put anything past callers like this. Then report him - www.consumerfinance.gov & your state attorney general.
BTW wages are garnished by court order - not because a cold caller says so. - RobbFirst I received a call from a Robo call stating to call back to 203-587-4970 which is in Conneticut. Then today a message from Jessica Brown with the process service dispatch with Riverside county asking me to call 855-984-0760 regarding a legal matter and the firm handling the case which I found out later is Johnston Law and that they would have legal proceedings to take place with or without your knowledge or participation.
Then I got a call from a Edward Blake who informed me of a debt that they were sueing me for a debt from over 10 years ago and that they would garnish my wages and he became abusive and belittling and trying to beat me down calling me a deadbeat and said that I needed to pay the 32,000 owed and that if I paid it now he would drop it down to the original 17,000 that I supposedly owed. He sent me a letter that was copied and pasted and wrong size fonts and the law firm logo looked like it was copied as well. I couldn't find the Johnston Law firm at the address in Century city online anywhere. I was suppose to send a cashiers check to NCS 146 2nd St, North Suite 310 St, Petersburg, FL 33701
I couldn't find a NCS with that address either. They really prey on people to try to get you to buy into the Fear and try to scare you into paying right away! This is not how things are done if this was a legal debt collector.
I'm going to tell them serve me and take me to court then and then we will find out!- Caller: Johnston Law

- Kenz| 1 replyI received a call from a restricted number earlier today. The lady said that she was with the county processing department and that someone filed a complaint against me.( called my clerk of courts afterwards and they laughed wondering where the processing dept was located?) She also said that an officer would be by today to serve me papers (still waiting on my porch) I asked what the complaint was and she said she couldn't tell me anything because she was just the dispatch. She said I needed to call the 1-855 number with my account because the law firm has my information. I called them and a gentleman told me that I owe on a credit card from 10 years ago. ( this is a card that went to collections but was paid in full shortly after) I asked him what the amount was that I supposedly owe? He said you don't supposedly owe it, YOU DO. (Real creditors legally have to allow you to dispute) He went on to belittle and talk with such arrogance. I asked him for an email address where I can send my receipt to because this card has been paid in full for at least 8 years. ( I was at work at the time and didn't have receipt in hand) He said to call back later when I have the receipt in hand and he would give me his email. I dug through paperwork for 1 1/2 hours to find it. I just called back to get his email address to submit receipt and was left on hold for 20 minutes. Very skeptical on this law firm.

- lou 62I got a call from a process server dispatch about serving me papers saying call If I need to change the delivery address. use this case #, etc. As I do have some unpaid debt I called. I get this guy on the phone saying that I've been sent paperwork, I had not, and that if I don't settle this within 24 hrs it will go to court. i'll then have either my wages taken, or property lien or bank account seized...then to settle he gave me 3 options. He extended my case but needed to hear from me by tomorrow. sent me paperwork thru docusign to authorize this agreement. And I believe he mentioned he would need a bank or cc info to take the payment. So I did a little searching around on the internet. Thank god I'm not stupid and luckily I found this site. Nice try...
