this is a number from St Francis.  My friend calls me from a local line and this is the number that shows up. could be anyone there though.

calls come in over 3 times a day

Its the Main PBX number always displayed from ANY phone calling out from St. Francis Hospital on 1000 Asylum St Hartford CT (or one of its field offices in Greater Hartford Area - even Bristol). So it was either a Doctor or billing calling you. Could have been a wrong number too. There is a phone in ER that anyone can use to make outgoing calls simply by pressing 9 first. But don't let the security guard catch you if he/she didn't authorize it.

They called me every day for weeks until I finally answered.  When I did they told me I have AIDS.  I've never even been to St. Francis.

When I get a call like this, I answer with a hello, wait 5 seconds for a reply, and when none is heard, I hang up.  It is true that when someone is calling from a main trunkline (as Chris said) it could be coming from anyone from that institution (or place of business). When I've "missed" a call and call the number back, I've frequently gotten a main desk operator who has no idea who might have called. I've waited, and frequently see the number show up and it's legit and the caller just had to hang before I had picked up. Not always the case, but sometimes. Still a pain in the butt when it is a spam call.

Someone from this numbers calls and doesn't leave a message.  Pretty annoying.

She called me, asked me if I was some guy I never heard of, then when I told her that she had the wrong number, she got mad and hung up

This number called me three times today. The one time I answered I just heard a loud and obnoxious beeping noise so I hung up. The other times they did not leave a voice mail.

I just got a call from this number on my way to work....NOT funny!! My husband works in that area and I was in a panic, thinking that maybe something happened to him. They should have a way or blocking that number from being used for outbound calls and if an employee dialed in error, they should have the common courtesy to say they've dialed the wrong number. Not a good way to start the morning :-(

About 7 phone calls came in from 5pm until late last night. We asked who it was and who they were looking for but then just silence. The last call was a random "I'm leaving now" and hung up???

Called my 88-year old mother's cell with emergency admittance details and details about critical cases of cancer for people being admitted or transferred, then heard background chatter about calling a supervisor if "they" did not pick up the call. Also use 860-914-5166. There is a recorded message when you dial 860-714-9000 that tell you they do not know who called you Even if you dial the 5166, which is the admissions office fir cancer care admissions. They (per the supervisor) do not ask for donations and are having the admissions lead call me back.

We may have someone spoofing this hospital's number to scam you for donations. Why? emergency cancer admitting does not request donations per the hospital. This is true.

Do not know what will happen but at least this is a start...whether spoof, donation scam, or simply personnel dialing wrong numbers (which seems unlikely since there are so many other than my mother's that are being called.

Legitimate appointment reminder call. If they don't leave a message, it may be because of HIPAA regs.
If they are asking for money, someone is spoofing the number.

Got a call from this number on my cell earlier today and no message was left.  Came up on Caller ID as follows:

Called, didnt leave a msg, no idea who
