I blocked my number and called them.  After an extremely long message detailing their hours of operation but never mentioning the name of the company, finally they gave you an opportunity to place you number on a do not call list.  Never, ever do that.  These people wanted your name, full address and telephone number.  If that doesn't set off an alarm for you, I'm afraid nothing will.  Do what I did .... I blocked their number.

FYI: 863 IS NOT ONLY LAKELAND FL AREA ~ ALSO in Port Charlotte , Charlotte /Arcadia + areas. Second thought, folks do travel & either to, rest stop or through Lakeland area. Just might need help and/or checking in with you. 😊 P.S.We have family near Lakeland area ##AND## a Lifetime Friend in Arcadia. Surprisingly, Wide distance btwn. the same triple digits! I looked this up wondering if
neighbor or friend of either known folks phone was used. 😉. Ya never know!

...if people are travelling through or stopping in Lakeland area, it's not likely they'll be using a payphone or public phone with the 863 area code - they'll be calling using their own cell phones tied to their own local area ...

Sometimes people forget their cell phones or the battery dies so they may need to use a payphone. Or, heck, not everyone HAS a cell phone so might use a payphone to call.

I lived in Fl and had an 863 cell number in Polk County, just west of Disney. Moved to TX and retained the number. I'm a real human :-) That being said, I'm getting a ton of scam calls from 863 lately.

The Federal Do Not Call list does not require that much information, just your phone number.
So no company should require your name and address either - just the phone number.
These scammers are phishing.
