Third call in three days from this number - left no message.

Called 3 times in last 3 days but no message.

Daily phone calls in last 5 days. Did not leave message

was called again. answered the phone and said hello and they hung up. Maybe some sort of scam.

Called on cell, no message.  2nd in a week.

Multiple calls this week. Did not pick up

Called several times the last two weeks.  Sometimes twice a day.  Never answered.  Never a message.

Same deal here; called several times during past week. No messages left.

They have been calling me frequently for a while now. Most times they don't leave a message or hang up when I say hello. Someone finally answered and said that they were calling about a shareholder meeting for Matthews Asia fund.

Actually had the same thing happen to me yesterday; it was a legitimate call from Matthews Asia fund asking me to do a proxy vote over the phone.

This is legit. It's the Matthews Asia Fund (some savings thing that we apparently have a small account with according to my husband). As in the post by Curlymoe, they are only looking for authorization to file a proxy vote over the phone vs by some other means.  Most other calls I get from numbers I don't already know are trying to either sell me a time share or get me out of one so I'm very wary about picking up calls but this one was OK.

Since one of the posts saying it was legit and was from Mathew Asian Fund. I picked up the phone this time. No one was on the other end. Hope the company knows what is going on. It is not good to call share holders this way.

Ok, I also own matthews asia fund. Why do these ppl keep calling and not leave a message? Why when we pick up is there no one at the other end? Why is the mail they sent on this vote so prolix? Am blocking the number.

When a mutual fund makes changes to their prospectus, even minor things they need a shareholder vote.  They need 50% responses to have a quorum.  They use calling services so if you answer and no one is there wait a few moments....then vote which ever way you want...  They will keep calling around the country until they get 50% response.  All fund families do this if they need a shareholder vote.

Oh, the joy when we finally get an executive  in office that takes breaking laws seriously.  Let those fines mount up!
