Claiming to be Lawson and Williams Associates Law Firm for debt

Mr. Smith called twice threatening to come to my home and my work.

Got a call identifying as Derek Smith, giving my address and a case number.

DO NOT GIVE THESE [***] THE TIME OF DAY!

They will threaten things like going to your place of business, showing up at your home, getting you arrested, etc.  Best course of action is to either just hang up, or tell them to "go ahead" then hang up.

You can't get arrested for not paying your debts.  This is 100% a scam.

I just got a call like 2 min ago and the name is now Paul Jones. Saying they will be coming to my work and I need an immediate supervisor present to be a witness for the allegations. Didnt say as to what but that I need to resolve it by Monday. What is this?

"Mr. Jones" called me same as the others... will come to my home or work... blah blah. Total scam!!! They also use the number 404-474-3646

Called me. Would not identify who they were. Gave me file number DT5619 and said to call 866 207 2789 for a legal matter. They said I had been warned the last time over phone and stated they will come to home or  place of employment. But, I don't owe anyone an outstanding debt,plus you can't give someone a 1st and final warning over phone. That's not how it works. Smelling scam.

I received a call from this number telling me i have a Count Complaint.  The guy verified the last 4 digits of a Social, i informed him it did not belong to me.   The guy gave me  866 207 2789 to call, i called the number, the person then proceeded to give me a Case# and could not tell me what the call pertained to.  I informed the person since they could not provide my identifier, i would turn the matter over to my wife , who happens to be an Attorney.  She investigated and found them to be Scammers of course.  A complaint was also filed with The Attorney Generals Office.  Please be aware, do not provide any personal information to anyone or any"business" that cannot be verified.

Stating that he is going to show up at my home or place of employment to serve me with legal docs, refuse to disclose the Petitioner's information however advises me that if I contact 8662072789 to settle the matter that can issue a stand sown order

CallIng from. A private number Mr. Jonson he will be at my house or work to serve me and that a supervisor should be present.

Was called earlier this week from this number. Have been dealing with random calls like this for years. Received another call minutes ago starting that I did not call the petitioner and that he would appear at my home (gave an address I moved from about 4 years ago tho), then started he would appear at my job and to have a supervisor there as a witness. I will comment here again if anyone does actually come to my job or not, but I doubt I will see any visitor.

Forgot to update, of course there was no one showing up to my house or job. Most likely if you call back they will offer to "settle without confrontation" by making a payment over the phone. Don't fall for it and don't worry if you're contacted by these people, it's all crap.

Received a call from Mr. Mark Johnson notifying me that I was scheduled to be served today at my residence or place of business and to have 2 forms of valid id on my person and a supervisor ready as a witness. They provided a file number DVB1832 in order to resolve the matter on a voluntary basis and to call the phone number 866-207-2789, otherwise "we will be out there to serve you." I called the number back to and they are claiming to be Lawson & Williams Attorneys with the choice to dial the direct line of 3 male attorneys. I hung up, as I know that there is usually something in writing mailed in legal/financial matters and the person calling did not identify the firm he was working for and sounded like a heavy duty scare tactic. I've been served with legal paperwork in the past, and it involved a quiet and swift delivery of paperwork with no contact prior.

They contacted me, about my wife's debt. It was an old payday loan, and was still in statute. So, needless to say they are a legitimate company. Check out their website. Lawsonwilliamsandassoc.com. They use different tactics to collect that's all. I'm guessing almost everyone who posts on here, has taking out a loan? Please correct me if I am wrong?

It is a scam. Do not comply to anything. I have never taken out a loan and I was being harassed over a debt that did not exist. The website is fake.

They left a VM on my business line to call 866-207-0878 that complaint have been filed against Carrie(don't know anyone by that name) and agents have been dispatched to an address (not mine) and it's imperative Carrie call and give the case # provided.

I'm not calling back.

whether this is a debt collector or not---they are not allowed to threaten anyone with anything, nor can they leave a message about a debt on a voice mail.  A debt collector is also not allowed to harass you.
