I also received a call from this number.  I called back to see who called.  It was Verizon Wireless, basically making a marketing call to get me to upgrade my phone--which I had just done last week.

I've gotten a  lot of calls from this number too. Thanks Bill for solving this mystery. I REALLY hate solicitation calls.

Someone's been calling me from this number as well, but they've never left a message.

I get calls from this number periodically, but if it is Verizon (my two years are probably up) and they want to make a sale, why don't they leave a message?  And this call is generally followed up (within 20 minutes or so)by another call, this time from 231-732-2086.  Apparently the 231 number is a landline number.  Does this make sense to anyone?

I got a call from this number and she wanted me to give her my personal information. She didn't speak english clearly and it was hard to understand what she was asking for but I am not going to give out my info to an unknown caller

Three calls have arrived from this number, leaving no message. All are unsolicited. What an unnecessary distraction, and a pain in many places.

I've been getting these messages too and reported it directly to the Verizon Customer Service.  They are looking into it -- it may possibly be an outsourced service who are calling about special deals.  Call Verizon customer service to report these calls and let them know.

got a call from 866-207-3616 & no answer....

I got two calls from this number -- my phone shows the 1st call lasted 44 min.!  No way would I talk to someone I don't know for 44 min.  The 2nd one was for 45 secs.  What gives?

I just received a call from this number. It was just a hangup. Yes, I'm on Verizon and way overdue for a new phone, but more likely it was a scam.

I received two calls, but couldn't respond so I don't what this is about. My plan lasts until next year - I have no idea why they would call me. Can I block numbers on my phone so that a specific number cannot call me anymore?

Calling in the late morning they referred to themselves as Verizon Wireless Customer Loyalty...

His manner was not professional, and he called from a horrible connection asking for names to validate our information. My wife received the call and she declined.

I suggest reporting them to Verizon Wireless...

Third or fourth time I`ve been called over about as many months. Always between 8 and 9 at night when I can`t answer, never a messge.

I called the (800) 922-0204  (CUSTOMER DISERVICE) number and they said it was one of their numbers for? Then the girl started gigglying. I asked her if this was funny and she kept up the giggles. I hung up and will pursue this through the FTC since this number is on the do not call list

SKETCHY caller to the max.  I didn't stay on the line long enough to figure out what the scam was, but the person on the other end spoke very broken english, claimed to be from Verizon, and was leading in to soliciting account information when I said that I'd have to call them back.  The caller had to spend several minutes lookin up what number they were calling from and gave the call back number as 8662073613.... with no extension.  Anyone know a verizon call center where everyone has a direct line?  I think not.

This is clearly a scam.  Do not give these people any information.

I received a call from this # today; no message left, so checked here and called Verizon.  "Eric" didn't know of the number and said usually their numbers are "1-800".  He offered to block any future calls from solicitors (theirs?) and I agreed.  Perhaps our 2-year contract is up?  If so, I'm switching, because I don't like hang-ups or calls where no message is left.  Good luck, Everybody.
