This is a mortgage company called  Portfolio Home Mortgage

Got a call from them on my cell phone.  They left a message stating that they were calling about my recent loan application to Lendingtree.com.  When called back, they offered me great loan rates on a home mortgage.  Whey they learned that I had not applied to lending tree, they dismissed it as being a mistake but "since they had me on the phone....."

Another fine example of deceitful marketing tactics.  This time, because they called my cell phone, I fell for it enough to call them back.

I received the same call, both on my cell phone and at work.  I did not apply for a mortgage so I immediately checked my credit report for any unusual activity.  Nothing.  I then decided to google the phone number and saw your post.  Glad to know it is just another marketing ploy.

I did apply on LendingTree.com and this company answered my ad. It made me nervous at first, because all of the companies used my email, but this company did have all of the pertinent private details from the Lending Tree website.

I received phone from 8662075340 before 10 minutes regarding mortgage. This is all false and fraud. I never applied for any mortgage in my entire life. This number is just fraud. Beware.

I also spoke to Dan on April 26th and 27th 2010 and although I hadn't applied for a mortgage refi for a year or more, I have begun to get calls just lately.  I thought he said 'Profolio' twice, but because it's in Houston it must have been Portfolio. Before giving my SSN I wanted to do some online research, and haven't come up with much (except for two negative reviews) and wondering why there is not more testimonial evidence about this company.  I'm feeling a lot less comfortable about giving them my SSN to do a credit check.  Anyone have information out there?

Would you believe I applied with Lending Tree in 2005! I asked them to remove me from their list in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009! This company doesn't take no for an answer and their calls are border line harrassing. Ask for a supervior and see what happens!

I have had two missed calls from them (one today and one yesterday).  They have not left any messages.

Trying to get me to apply for a mortgage

I got 2 calls today.  Both times when I answer it disconnects immediately.  Strange to say the least.  

By the way, I would never give my SSN (or any other personal information) to anyone over the phone that I did not call myself.  That is just plain being too risky with your personal information.

Got the call a couple of times, He claims his name was Smith and represented SOUTHLAND  lending and the office of Houston Texas ,, seemed kind of odd when he called again 2 weeks later and asked if I had the monthly statement there so I could fax it over ??? funny same question as last time and my wife looked up the fax number to Texas office and sent it there with attention Mr. Smith..  after talking to him a little bit something hit me that this is someting wrong, we got in a verbal dispute with him finally him saying go and F**k myself, I answered that if he thought he was a big enough man that he should come over and give it a try. then he hung up on me ??? Wonder why ?

I just got a call from this number. They just hang up. Yesterday I got four call they hang up. It scared me. Was someone checking on me. Now I just hang up

DO NOT give your SSN out over the phone, that is begging for trouble!!

Knew my name and acted like he knew me from sutherland mortgage. Called back and I asked for address and the girl on the phone was from India and could not understand. Again asked for address and she just went quiet and said nothing. I asked the original caller how he got my number and he would not answer. I hate these asswepes.
