- ChouI got a phone call on my cell not knowing who it was. They did not identify themselves, whatsoever.
- dasnaserecorded message saying "please wait for the very important message for the next availible agent", is this a scam? I held for 1 minute, and they keep calling. If it is important, someone will be in person to speak to you.
- Caller: Not known
- ginnysomeone from this number repeatedly called my cell. when i called it back it was some sort of sallie mae hotline.
- Caller: Sallie Mae
- Steve| 3 repliesSomeone from this number called and said that he was with Sallie Mae. He then proceded to ask me to verify my birthdate because he had some issue that he wanted to discuss. I told him I was uncomfortable verifying that information since I did not know why he was calling. After a minute or two of trying to convince me to verify either my birthdate or address before he could discuss this matter he got irritated. He then told me that he would not play this sort of game and hung up on me.
NOW -- I do have an account with Sallie Mae, so if this was a legitimate call then it was simply an unprofessional way for this person to act. If it was not a legitimate call (IE a scam).....- Caller: Sallie Mae?
- Joycethey call about every hour on the hour they don't leave a msg and when they do they tell me to press 2. They never leave a name. The calls begins at 7:30 am until 8:30 pm. I answered once, and nobody said anything. I don't know how to get them to stop! I don't answer anymore. I have blocked them, but they have unblocked the number.
- LEE replies to SteveI too get lots and lots of calls from this same number 866-215-1261, we attempted to answer this call twice, the first time was nothing but breathing and they hung up, the second time we stayed on the line for 2 or 3 minutes and no one came on the line. I dont know what we all can do to stop this but its either a scam or just phone abuse. I am going to notify my phone company and let them know this is phone abuse, I have signed up on the nation wide no call program to stop telemarketers from calling.
- CharlotteThis is supposedly a phone number associated with Sallie Mae.
They've called me 56 times in the last 6 days. Only 18 of those calls were during business hours when I could try and call them back. Two calls I have answered and I am immediately put int queue to talk to an operator, during which time their system apparently disconnects my call.
Get away from Sallie Mae as soon as you can!!- Caller: Sallie Mae
- Call type: Debt collector
- JaneI have received several calls
from this numbers. Supposedly
it's from Sallie Mae. I get this unprofessional
call when i'm a week or two behind on my payments
It's expected to receive calls from
creditors if i'm behind but I
would expect to at do it in a
professional manner.- Caller: i think its Sallie Mae
- BP1982They keep calling and I think it should be reported as harrassment. I have an account with Sallie Mae. When I do answer their calls I try to explain that my husband and I have had some SERIOUS trouble with our bank account (I mean overdrawing every two weeks and not just small amounts, cause the bank likes to charge $32 per item that goes through). They said they will keep calling and hang up on me. I usually hit ignore or end on the phone and that turns the ringer off. They don't want to try to work with me, so I'm not even going to talk to them.
- Caller: I'm PRETTY SURE it is SALLIE MAE too
- JT1983I am pretty sure it is sallie mae but of course they use a different number every time they call. If they would listen to the person that they are contacting it would help told me that they would continue to call until they received paperwork from my school. I don't think I can do anything about my school not sending them the paperwork yet so they want to bug you about something you have no control over. They are a BIG NUISANCE!!!!!!!!!!
- Caller: I think it is sallie mae
- Daniel replies to Steve| 1 replyYou sound like an idiot. I just hung up with them. They ask for your birthdate to verify they are talking to you. How is that unprofessional? You were just being rude so of course he got irritated. I would have too.
- RJ replies to DanielYou are an idiot. Who comes on this site and calls people names. With all the Identitiy Theft issues in America and you know damn well you don't have an account with Sallie Mae and the caller id has just some letters on it, why the hell would anyone give them anything. Now i understand they have to verify whom there talking too, but thats why other companys have created what the federal government has deemed safe PIN NUMBERS, you [***] JERK! Maybe they should get a lilte more in tune with whats going on else where in the world and maybe people wouldn't hang up. You duckin [***].
- lance irwinthis # calls my cell 7-10 times daily and does not leave a messege.
- Caller: sallie mae
- Call type: Debt collector
- Chrismc74@gmail.comThey are rude and if you don't give them what they want. They start getting loud and get in your face and after that they would hang-up. I've called and demanded to speak to a supervisor. I don't like to be cut off, and all he did was fight with me. He even had the stones to ask me how the rep should have end the call with my wife. I told him, the rep should have said thank you for making a payment and please make the second payment as soon as you can. Thank you for your time and have a good night. And I got no answer to that.
Hey everyone. Remember in this day and age, people have to be responsible for there actions. You don't have to stand for this abuse. Make calls, write letters do what ever you can. There are a ton of people out of work, if they can't be professional then someone else can.- Caller: Sallie Mae
