CallerID reads "DISCOVER FINANC". The call came from 623-643-2996 but they asked to call them back at 866-215-1862.

This appears to be a credit card scam operation. They ask for all kinds of information...last 4 of credit card, last 4 SS#, 3 digit code on back of card. They should know this already if they are legit.

Called at work while unavailable, left message with coworker asking me to call back at the 866 number.

I have received numerous calls from "Discover" while I am at work.  They told me I had a balance of $36.00 and then another person called later and said I had a balance of $600.00.  I returned the phone call which answers "Discover and then they want the last four digits from your Discover card, you social security number as well as the pin number on the back of the card."  I have cancelled my Discover card and I do not have a balance, however, they are still calling me.  We have got to do something about this, I feel they are trying to steal people's identify.

I just got one at work, too.  Called back without thinking, my work phone made a "beep" noise and hung up.  So ... maybe the security in work's phone system dumped it.

Do not answer them or call back... it's a scam!!!

Its not a scam, it really is Discover Card. They are calling to collect the payments that you missed or have not paid. And they will call any number that they have of yours on file, morning, noon & night until they get their money. They are legit when they ask for all your info, they are verifing YOU are who YOU say YOU are. But always be cautious when giving out you last 4 of your social, your acct # and the 3 digit security pin on the back of your card.. You never know

I just called the customer service number listed on the Discover website, and they verified that the 215-1862 number is their collection agency. It's not a scam. Just annoying.

Called when i was at work, left a message and told me to call back this number. He said it's important for me to call back, blah...blah, something sounded very suspicious...

got a message on my cell phone to call back Steve Kemp at 866-215-7269.  I don't have a Discover card, don't have any outstanding bills that I know of, I actually don't really even have much that bills to me in my name.

I've called him back several times and he never picks up.  I don't know when I'll be available to answer his call so I can't leave a message.

I have a super common last name, very very uncommon first name.  Is it possible that he's calling my cell for the wrong person?

Ok genius.  It's not a scam.  Steve Kemp is just the hardest working person in the world.  By himself, he calls all of the delinquent Discover card account members.  Dope!  No one in my family has ever had a Discover card and he called us.  He didn't even have the first name correct.  Hey, you looking to buy a bridge?

I do not know if this is a scam, but they called my home# asking for my nephew who I have not seen for 3 years. How did they get MY phone #? Because my nephew put me down as a reference when applying for the card.

I got a call at work after I had already left, said his name was Bryan and to call him back at this number; 866-215-1862, didn't know this number so I googled it and read what other people had to say, so I'm not calling the number back.....

Crystal told me that I was late, well she is wrong. So I called back 866-215-1862 and got the automated answering machine run around. Two hours later I get called by another dumb a$$ about my Discover card. This time I play her game and give a number that starts with the Discover first four and made up the rest. Good luck with that.

I have received numerous calls from foreigners claiming to be Discover. I myself already have a discover card, a real one. They keep calling claiming that my husband, who is deployed right now, is pre-approved for a Discover card with a $25,000 limit. I've already contacted Discover about it and they are aware of the scam. I just cannot get these people to quit calling! No matter how rude I am they will not give up!

I also wanted to add that on one of these calls a lady gave me a 1-866 number to call back, I called it immediately and it was for a live chat line.

My wife told me when I got home that we'd been called by Discover's collection agency and to call back at this 866 number.  After confirming online that my account was in good standing I called the regulare 800 Discover number and spoke with a representative that confirmed that my account was in good standing.  She also told me that this 866 number was NOT their number.

Discover's regular number DOES ask for the last 4 of your account and the last 4 of your Social, as well as your Zip Code, but since people are saying that this one asks for the code on the back as well, I'm not calling back.

FRAUD . and to everyone saying its "not" a fraud i believe the discover company is either SELLING YOUR INFORMATION or THEIR SECURITY IS BEING BREACHED . gave us the 866 215 1862 number . I believe fake . Just call your discover card company directly . Dont call the number they give you .

It asks you to hold for an important message and a live voice comes on asking for my husband.  When I asked the nature of the call, it was business related and told them that he's a hard person to reach.  After persisting on his availability, I hung up on the person.  More calls during the day but left no message.

I answered again this evening, asking me to hold for an important message.  I hung up.  Another call immediately after that, this time they left this phone number, 1-866-215-1862.  When I notified my husband, he said his Discover Card bill is not due yet and don't worry about it.

Are they so hard up on money that they call the home to harass the Discover Card user before the bill is due?

We have received 5 calls from the 866-215-1862 asking for
someone who does not live here.  According to the person
calling they are trying to reach an exisiting customer of
Discover Card.  This must be a scam.
