I'm sure it is a scam.
Seems like they are using all kind of 215-????,s from Pheonix, AZ.

Also got an American Airways letter in the mail.
No return address.

Did not get a call, but this is a listed number on a mail scam. Same thing as the others - you won 2 airline tickets from American Airways. TOTALLY FRAUD!!! Make sure you report this!

Received a letter from a Christina Jud, VP, dated 18Jul2011, asking me to call 1-866-215-5352 for an award of 2 roundtrip airline tickets.  I did not call, but Googled: American Airways (in the letterhead) and the number.  No address in the letterhead, nor on the envelope.  This code was at the bottom of the letter:  DF-93243.

THIS IS A SCAM. There is no such air carrier called "American Airways." http://www.kls2.com/airlines/n-america.html lists all North American carriers and "American Airways" isn't on it. THIS IS A SCAM. This is a version of the advance-fee-for-something scam where something is a grant, loan, lottery winnings, interest rate reduction, gift card, refund, doggie, cruise, vacation, free gas, etc., and the advance-fee is for tax, shipping, registration, insurance, secure handling, processing, etc. They may send you a fake check, may want your credit/debit card or bank account number,  or tell you to wire cash via Western Union, Moneygram, etc. They can put recurrent difficult-to-cancel monthly charges or a 1-time charge on your card or bank account, and sell account info to other criminals and you'll have to replace accounts altogether. Wired-cash is irretrievable - once it's picked up at the other end, it's untraceable and gone. If they want you to call them up for instructions, they may tell you not to discuss the wire with Western Union desk clerks but the real reason is WU clerks are familiar with these scams and will warn you not to wire the money. i got the same letter, funniest part is VP Lisa DEAN signed her name DEEN. she must've forgotten how to spell her own name in all the excitement about my winning!

Letter from Us Airlines offering two tickets from Lisa Dean (she spelled her name correctly this time).  No return address on the letter or letter head.  Post mark is from Phoenix AZ.

Got the same letter, but mine came from us airlines, signed vice president valerie fay...also postmarked from arizona!  Also, this time they have a 1866 number.

My phone number is 866-302-2686 they are getting crafty at changing their numbers rather regulaly

Vice President, Grace Pell, from American Airways sent a letter stating I had won 2 round trip tickets.  I was to call # 1-866-285-8223.  Plain white envelope with no return address on either envelope or letter.  Bottom of letter was code GW-42723.

My husband received "the letter" from "Joy Cass, Vice President" stating to call:  1-866-256-0719 to receive the $1,350. value of 2 roundtrip airline tickets. Thanks to all for affirming the scam.
