Left message from Mark Russell claiming some legal action with "your name and social security number." Message asked to call back within 72 hours. No company name given, no details on pending action, and didn't use my name. I'm tempted to call back and ask what my name and social security number are (since I have gotten phone calls for the previous holder of my number), but I don't have the patience or the phone minutes to waste.

I received a call from the number but was not to reach anyone when I called back. It was a call from Mark Russell and he stated that legal action was being taken against me and I had 72 hours to respond back. I don't know anything about some legal case.

Same here. I've already been scammed once with a call similar to this, but at least that time they knew my name. Does anyone know if this is a scam?

just received the same call on my voicemail. didn't bother calling back...I'm tired of these calls!

Don't fall for this, this guy has called me with different names and never does sh*t or has the legal authority to do anything about or what he says.

just received a text that said they were going to take legal action, someone took out a payday loan at bottom dollar online in my name  2 years ago, they keep putting it on my credit  bureau report and I keep disputing it as fraud then I start getting the threats

not sure what this isbut when not talk back all I got was a recording for go solo system. It asks for you to speak your name and it places you on hold and search for your party. The message I rejoice received was also from I'm mark russell saying that we have your name and social on file but doesnt say whose name and socal.I don't have a payday loans nor have I taken any other types of check loans or anything.

'Got a phone message leaving this number to call back at (866) 215-6794. I believe the caller ID identified the call as Private Caller" or out-of-area. At any rate, no such number or anything even close pops up in the caller ID box. Although I couldn't get the name of the caller, in my case, it wasn't a Mark Russell but a male voice identifying himself as Alex(I think) and some last name I can't make out. He also left info to call him within 72 hours so I could see what my rights are as a "formal complaint" against me is or has been filed in my town. The man did not only fail to give a valid phone number that the telephone directories carry (I checked with 3 and they have nothing on the number in their data, but he never identified the company he represents. This really has the markings of a scam. I will be making out a complaint with the FTC. The  The more these schemes are investigated and exposed, the more we will ultimately help put these scammers who are breaking laws out of business.

I have received this call. It is a scam. Its in conjunction with payday loans. Mark Russell said I owed money on a payday loan and legal actions were to follow if I didn't follow up in 72 hours. I paid a large sum of money and not a penny went to the loan company.

Why did you 'pay' them anything? If you owe a loan to a loan company, pay them directly. You got scammed.

This is a bill collect that will call you and not tell you anything;  turn them over to the feds.

Received a recorded call stating a complaint had been filed using my SSN when I call the number back got a rude female who would not disclose who they were.

This so called called me harrasing me with phone calls.Please report that number and find him and lock him up for trying to be a scammer.

I got the same call, i have 72 hours. They did not ask for me by names, red flag 1. Debt collectors must identify the co. They are collecting for, state your name and should be able to give you your info.  Like how much and what it is you owe money for. You cannot go to jail for bad debt. Im thinking some low lfe group of crooks too lazy to earn money the honest way. Call block, bbb, ftc. I filed complaints today. Heres to you matt russell may you go to hell.

Started receiving calls on my direct phone line at work and on work provided cell phone as well.  The company I work for does not tolerate debt collectors calling and trying to speak with employees.  His name was Matt Russell and left same message on both phones as message above:  72 hours before a formal complaint will be filed please call for court intervention this is associated with your SS# and Name.

Please advise where I can file multiple complaints.  This is an outrage and could cause people to be terminated from their jobs if it does not stop.  I will file a complaint tomorrow with FTC; any others recommended?   Thanks for your help.  I can't stand people who want get a real job and torments the people trying to work.  UGH!!!

This is a bill collector and they call because someome may have used u as a reference on an appkication of some kind. Thats why I am getting calls. According to Federal Fair Debt Collection Protection Act if someone is able to get a mailing address by calling please share because they have to be written to to stop the calls. The problem is getting the address.When I asked for an address they gave me the run around and then hung up. So please post on here anyone getting calls that wont stop and try to get an addres and send a letter asking them to stop if the calls dont stop then they could be sued. Could be a big kawsuit.

Same message. A Matt Russell stating that I had 72 hours and that a legal action was filed against me with my name and SS#. No company name or who was filing this action against me. Its funny how Ive not received any thing in the mail or certified letters from anyone stating I owe something.

just got the same recorded message. Definitely sounds scam to me. I have had legit ones get forwarded to me at my previous office (coworker got laid off and apparently laid on the debt) as the line was automatically forwarded to me. This was nothing like those.
