Got a call  from this number a few months ago & let it go.  Today they called me to say that I had 3 counts of fraud, the server went to my house & was going to come to my work & take me to jail if I didn't settle up  for a loan that they say I made in 2011.  They had all of my information, names of family members, e mail address, ss# ect.  After being on the phone with them for over 1 hour I did give them my credit card number & set up payments.  I think now I will call my bank, police, and whomever else I can think of to see if this is legit.

Ordinary debt is NOT a felony.  In fact, it is not even criminal!  It is a civil problem.

A phone call, email or text message from a supposed debt collector is not legally sufficient evidence of debt.

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) includes statements such as this:

* Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money.   ["Written" means snailmailed ... not emailed or texted]

Therefore, if that caller wants you to pay immediately, before you get the written validation notice via snailmail,  then the call is definitely not legitimate.

Supposedly a Delaware Limited Liability company founded in 2014.  

I just got a call from this company and I let it go to voicemail. The Department that called was Central Arrangements of Copeland Capital. Apparently my decreased father has three actions against him and if he wants to stop farther action he needs to call 1-866-215-7315 and reference his case#.
