- Fred11/3/2017. Got a pop up with the number 866-217-1731 saying to call AppleCare because I’ve been watching “inappropriate material “ as in YouTube. They asked me to give them my email and password so they can run a scan. Obviously sounded like a scam. Don’t give them anything.
- Marvin Carter| 2 repliesMy google chrome browser locked up. Called them. They wanted me to buy a itunes card. I hung up. Uninstalled chrome and re installed. Now I wonder what else is wrong.
- Caller: I called them at that number
- BigA replies to Marvin CarterUnless you allowed them into your computer you should be fine. All you would have had to do was clear out the cache and cookies. I would download either malwarebytes or spybot and check the computer as well. Both are free programs. Get ad blocking software as well, that should also be free.

Its a "Tech Support scam" Pop Up that you got from visiting a malicious website or was tricked into downloading something that contained the Virus.

Good question Mr SHILL, why you posting your poorly written rubbish comment ?Quote:I don't know why people has rubbish comments.JAMES MILLER
Is attempting to trick anyone reading this thread that when a scammer like one of them calls, its ok to answer. These shills always act like the calls did wonderful things for them, so you believe it will happen to you too. They are telling you lies about their calls because they want you to let them try scamming you. - FU2 replies to JAMES MILLER| 1 reply"This is legitimate apple." Granny Smith, Winesap, Honeycrisp?
"I don't know why people has rubbish comments." Speak for yourself, dalit. - Tygerkat replies to FU2I'm partial to Jonagold apples, myself. 😸
