collection agency keeps on calling me for the next door neighbor, stating they cant get a hold of her and would like me to deliver a message to her to call them back, first off how do they know we are neighbors and how did they get my number

Collection Agency, I believe they are called the UCB.  They keep calling me for debts my x wife racked up while i was in iraq, they have even called my company commander.

These people called me and were very rude.  They were claiming they were with "Benefits" whatever that means.  The funny thing is that the neighbor they said I have doesn't live on my street, they gave me some wacky street name that I've never heard of.  I am on the DNC list and I keep getting calls from these people.  How do I make it stop???

This number belongs to a collection agency UCB Inc. They are very rude and keep calling me at work.

Someone identifying himself as "Leo" from UCB said my neighbor (correct name) had given him my number to call if she couldn't be reached, and he asked that we pass on this phone number for her to call.....I know this neighbor's name, and we have been introduced exactly once--NEVER would she give out our name as a contact!!  These people are obviously using a reverse phone directory and attempting some kind of scam.  He also knew my name and it's kind of scary.  Can't anything be done to shut down these people?

I WANT THESE PEOPLE TO STOP CALLING ME TOO. NOW THEY ARE TELLING ME IF I DON'T PAY THE BALANCE BY THE END OF THIS MONTH, JANUARY, THEY ARE GOING TO SUE ME. CAN THEY DO THAT????? PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME!!!

I received a call and let it go to voicemail.  The message stated I must return the phone call by 1700 today.  I came here first and googled the number and found out (thanks to everyone here) that this is a collection call.  I just refinanced and my credit score is 795.  I called them back and asked what the call was referencing and they told me a collection matter.  I told them they must have the wrong number being I have excellent credit.  She stated that is incorrect and asked my name.  I hung up.

these people keep calling my office for someone (we'll call this person "alfie") and we keep telling them that we are not allowed to take messages for this person.  now it is the "supervisor" named mr. bishop who won't stop calling the office.  then he proceeded to ask what alfie's position is here.  i told him i was not allowed to disclose any information about alfie.  then mr. bishop got all rude and started to yell at me questioning "why not?" "why am i not allowed to speak with him?" "when is he available?" "when is the next time he is supposed to be in?"  eventually a coworker took the phone from me and told mr. bishop that we will pass his name and number over to our supervisor and he would have to wait to hear from her.

do these people not take hints?? honestly, why keep asking the same question over and over again when i blatantly told him i couldn't help.

If you speak with Mr. Bishop, call him "man." It infuriates him. He insisted that I call him by his name, and not "man." Next time I will address him by his REAL name - Courtney Cox-Arquette.

This company who never identifies themselves directly continues to call my home number when they say they want my son. He has a cell and all legitimate business calls him on that. What if anything can be done to get them to stop calling here??

This is the first time they called me from this number. They have been calling me for a few months now but from 800-536-5187. They also had one of my neighbors leave a note on my door. They use the names Leo, Shannon, Mr. Berkley, McNose, Teresa and Ms.Ferguson. We let the answering machine pickup the calls. Sometimes they have music playing, other times it sounds like kids in the background.

This crazy company called someone that had our same last name and left a message with our personal information.  Those people called us because they just happen to know who we are and was worried that something had happened to someone.  When I called to tell them to remove the number and asked for their fax # so I could fax a letter to "cease & desist" all communication by telephone, the person on the other end literally kept telling me to hold on, would not give me the number, nor would he transfer me to a supervisor.  I hung up.  When I called back a lady answered who finally gave me the number.

These people have called stating that they were UCB to collect a debt from my father for Idiana Department of Revenue. I called IDR and asked if they have a collection agency besides Marion County Sheriff's Department. They said the only other collection agency they use was Premeir Collection. That we should NOT send any money out to these people. So now they keep calling and calling and calling. I thougt since they were posing themselves as collecting for IDR that when I complained to IDR htey would investigate ASAP. These people are trying to collect STATE MONEY!!!!!

How far and for how long is this going to go before something happens????

I have no idea why these robo-compu-calling fools even waste their time or try to waste mine.  I owe nobody anything.  I am debt free.  It feels good to be debt free.  So when [***] spammers call and give my voice-mail a line of BS about 'reducing interest rates' or threaten with 'you owe us money', I just laugh knowing they are full of manure.  Then I push the 'delete' button.  Whoosh.  Gone.

Call  and write the FCC. It is illegal to call cell phones for collection purposes. Get a standard cease and desist letter online and write teh FCC

Actually it is not illegal to call cell phones for collection purposes. I suggest that you get your facts straight before posting nonsense. While I do not work for this company, I am in the collection industry. A collector can call your cell phone, call your neighbors looking for you, and can call your work.

This UCB Collection Company has been calling my home looking for my daughter.  I took the information and file# gave it to my daughter. She has money weekly taken from her paycheck electronically at 12:01 am every Friday, paying her debt to the original creditor. They in turn 1 month ago turned it over to Resurgent Capital who then I guess sold it to UCB.  She has all her bank statements that she produced for me to see. Since that time she has made 3 more payments. Her balance owed is 99.00. When she called the original creditor they told her it takes about three weeks before the money will be sent to Resurgent and then on to UCB. So I guess in the meantime I will have to listen to my phone ring off the hook and the answer machine pick up only to hear a recording asking for my daughter and if I am not her not to listen to it. Then some heavy breathing only to be accompanied by back ground music. Looking for suggestions on what to do. She doesn't even live at home. Did however obtain a cease contact and harrassment letter on a debt that is not mine on line.

You must be full of nonsence too.  Collecters can call your work once to varify you work there.  They can not call your neighbors because it is none of your neighbors buisness if you owe debts or not.
