Text my number about a federal investigation open and to verify location

Said they were calling from the complaint dept about a federal investigation against me and a notice of intent was mailed to me and I had 45 days to reply and for me to call them back at this number with my contact info and to refer to case # 307-00008

If I received the call I would treat as suspicious. If you have the ability to block the number then please do that.

This is an absolute SCAM.  The Federal Government NEVER Calls you.  If they were going to arrest you they certainly wouldn't tip you off and if it was the IRS or a Complaint against you they handle ALL of that by mail or in person.  These people are scumbags.

There is NO SUCH DEPARTMENT as Federal Location Services.

You folks need to listen a little more closely yes the government will never call. We are Federal location services we are not the government we are a locating service, that's all, we locate and deliver documents.

I called the number that was left on the voicemail and it was Microsoft service desk 🤷🏻‍♀️They have been calling me from an unknown number all day. They never said it was regarding a federal investigation it was a totally different subject.

They are calling my family members CELL PHONES trying to locate me? Im not hard to find so why are you calling cell phones? Then they are looking you up while you are on the phone with their caller ID which is why I called from a blocked number. Its a scam. If the government wants to get in touch with you, they will

According to Rose the voicemail claimed to be “Microsoft service desk”. This is one of several frivolous calls that have been covered in the news. They’re targeting vulnerable who will likely believe Microsoft is actually calling them. There is some level of success with these calls since they continue to take place. Knowledge is the key to reducing these calls. Unfortunately many are unaware that Microsoft doesn’t call people out of the blue.

This is the same thing that is happening to me

I got a text message pertaining a debt from a bank I banked at years ago. Mind you this same situation happened 6 or more months ago with a different number.
But I just factory reset my phone and all of a sudden I got this text message three days after resetting my phone. This number the (866)217-7786 the lady who I was talking to said that they are going to serve me or we can handle it out of court. I called the bank in question and asked how many bank accounts  I had ever with the bank the collections department stated 1 as I was at the bank I called the number because the bank asked for the account in question and it was for same year different month. The lady told me they were going to send a armed officer to my address and that on top of the money they were taking me to court for they were  going to add on 3,500 of their court fees she asked if I had anyone I could ask for money from. Then when I agreed basically because she only gave me 24 hours to decide to pay or go to court and with out any paper work to back any of this up. I'm extremely sceptical. Why isn't there any paper work to back up any of this. And on top of it when I was giving her my address to be served she said when you go to court they aren't going to want to hear your side they are just going to want to verify Identity and if it was your account. I'm glad I googled this number and found this website.

The number I received is 866-217-7908 and I was to show up for court. Then she was with drawing a summons that was against me but she couldn’t tell me what for I had to call this number and give a case number. Really!!! Courts are closed due to Covid-19 and we have these things called credit karma lady!!! We are in the middle of pandemic and this is what these people are doing!

Hi did they stop calling? I keep getting these calls every other day.

This 844-866-7786 number referred to by JZ above is making the rounds.  I received the same nonsense email containing a purported bill sent of course from a cloned email address.  Very bothersome.  Its a scam.  Dont call and delete the email
