Left threatening message describing "time-sensitive" legal matter. Likely scam.

Said I or my lawyer had to call immediately if not I'd suffer the consequences.  It's a scam!

Got a voicemail about officer craig williams.  Search google and you will see there are several scams about this.  Don't fall for it!

I received the same call from officer Williams.

Recorded message in English with Indian accent summoning to call back to take an arrangement or be prepared to have big problems. Call ends with good luck.

Purported to be the CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) warning of a pending tax related legal prosecution issue.
The phone number was in service but their story was the standard scam requiring payment to avoid prosecution.
I've reported this to police previously and this time I complained to Bell who apparently do nothing but probably have legal liabilities for allowing this to continue.   Apparently they have been aware of this for some time.
My next step is to complain to CRTC about Bell's inaction about both this and the Air Duct Cleaning calls.

Said was was Canada custom and revenue agency, I know they don't call, they send mail, I hung up, it's, of course, a scam.

Caller called wife @ work saying call back or police will execute  a warrant to arrest you.
Calls come from China. Don't call back.

The first thing is that they are doing something very general (I.E. they leave it up to you to think about what you might have done wrong). If you call them back, you may well start with a junior person that refers you to a more senior person (both fake) who will then tell you at great length how much crap you could be in. The senior person will then make it sound like they are talking to a senior person and will come up with an "option." Last year, the SCAM involved them trying to get you to pay a tax balance by going down and buying gift cards at a local store (they said it could put put into some form of electronic payment thing). Some of these have done some homework (for example, the CRA scam did use an actual address for a CRA office). My advice is if you receive anything like this and answer. you get a name and badge number and the file number. You then contact the department or agency they say they represent (do not call the number they give you--go through that department or agency's website) and ask if there is anything on your accound and explain what is going on. As a note, the way they leave the message is not how things are done...it's designed to cause you to stress and jump in before you look.

when I picked up, it was a bot who was talking, I forgot its name, it was officer something, I forgot, he asks that I needed to return the call or else he wishes me good luck.

I called back because the message didn't come through clearly. It was 100% guaranteed a scam - they said they were from Revenue Canada.

CRA scam

Treatening messages on voice mail in English, I'm living in Quebec, we all speaking french here,  this is obviously a scam.

Received two calls today from 866-217-8175. First time I picked it up it went straight to auto call from "officer Williams" advising me it was imperative to call back. Funny thing is I blocked the number from my phone the first time and it still came through as being the same number. I'm assuming it's actually a different number but shows up the same. Obviously a scam. Will be reporting it to the Anti Fraud folks in the morning. These calls are annoying if anything.
