This is a debt collector posing as a law firm.  The name of the business is Mann Bracken, LLC but they identify themselves as Mann Bracken Law Firm.  Do not engage these people.  If you do talk to them, note date, time, length of call and what was said and by whom.  I would suggest contacting an attorney familiar with the fair credit/debt collecting laws and bringing suit against these people because they are more than likely participating in illegal collection activities.  They are SLIME and will lie to you, threaten you, etc. to scare you.  If you communicate via mail, be sure it is certified, registered and return receipt requested.  This covers you legally and anything you say on the phone does not.  Dispute EVERYTHING that they tell you and make them prove their claims.  Odds are that they can't do so.

Ihave been stung by these people in the past!  Suffice to say, I got them out of my checking account, and reported them to the GA Attorney General's office. They have been sending me letters - I do not respond. Calling my home - I do not answer.

Now they are calling my work!! Identified themselves as "Mann Bracken Attorneys at Law" stating that they had a very important phone message for me. . . .If the message is so important, why didn't they leave it on my work number???

Decided to do a reverse number look up and received nothing. Then I just googled the number and wound up here.  Interesting that they are continuing to ruin peoples' lives.

If you receive a message from them, DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION.  To this day, I have not received proof that they could collect from me for my ex-husband's debt; and it's been over 2 years.

I just got a call this morning (09/18/2008) from these people on my voice mail. I called them back and they did not find the record on me by my cell phone nor my name, they started to ask me about lastname, social security, license which I refused to give them the social security but release my name and last name.  They do not give me address, contact or anything else... I think this is a scam. Usually, a debt collecting agency will send a letter to a known addrsss and I have not received anything.  What can we do about these people?
