- LB| 3 repliesCall on my home business line. Said they were with some compliance department of gov't, but sounded like a sales call. Person was rude, when I asked why she was calling. Caller id just number no name.
- A70 replies to LBI just received a call today ...it sounds like a scam. You know all new business start ups are public knowledge so I wonder if there is someone out there preying on small business owners that are learning as they go? Would you happen to live in NC?
- AnonymousSame thing happened to me today. Woman was polite, however, and said there was a package that needs to be shipped out to us and to call back at 866-226-4062 ext 1. It's a scam. Do not give out any info.
- Call type: Telemarketer

- scam replies to PAT| 1 replyCompliance info and posters are FREE from the Gov Agencies that require a business to post them

- Knowledge| 1 replyYou all are wrong you can print 52 pieces of paper and plaster your wall with computer paper which will only get you in compliance with the federal laws. That is why there is compliance company's that sell packages to business owners it is not a "SCAM" Here is what you receive Labor Law posters State and Federal, CPR equipment and postings,First Aid equipment, Sexual Harassment Posters and Policy for your business, HR software with over 1700 everyday forms, a life time protection plan that notify's you when the laws change and keeps you up to date with HR and Compliance updates not to mention the posters are free when they update. Got to Office depot Add all that up and your over $400 worth of supplies and you don't receive the protection plan which means you will need to purchase this roughly every year for the remainder of the business. Even if you print the posters yourself you still need everything else. Educate yourself before you call something a "SCAM".
- Small Business Owner replies to LB| 1 replyIf you get a call from 866-226-4062 Ext 706 this is a phone scam. This woman who calls herself Marie Jordan tells you that the government will need to send you a package of information and that someone can come and inspect your place of business or you can be shut down if you don't receive this package for $160. She says you'll receive a receipt for 100% reimbursement once you receive the package. Don't pay for anything and please contact your state attorney, the Better Business Bureau, and file a complaint to this web site: .http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/phonefraud/report.shtml This woman is trying to take advantage of people who are trying to start their own business who don't know any better and for now she can get away with it!
- Small Business Owner replies to Small Business OwnerI forgot to mention Marie Jordan claims she is calling from the United States Corporate Compliance so she is posing as a government official. This is a scam!
- P.O'd in O.C.My husband received this call today from a lady named Nicia at extension 705. He recently bought a plumbing business, and she told him that he had to have the information in order to be in compliance with his business. He gave her his credit card information before he called me, and when told me about the call, I immediately thought it might be a scam. I went ont the US Dept of Labor website and then called our local OFCCP office and the lady said that she didn't know any Federal office that would ask for money without any kind of paperwork. I called my husband and told him it was a scam, we googled the number and it was on the Ripoff report, so then he had to call the bank and cancel his card and have them reissue a new one. BEWARE! It may not be a "SCAM", but they are untruthful in the information they give you and the "requirements."
- emGot a call today from 'Sharon' with this same telephone number. Was actually rude when I asked for the website to look up the company she was representing. Glad I typed this number into the search engine. Thanks to all of you for the info.
- new business owner replies to KnowledgeSo in other words you work for this company
- Doc| 1 replyJust got a call from Marie Jordan from 888-553-3861 ext 706. She claimed the same as mentioned above. I told her that I was planning on opening my chiropractic clinic next week and she promised the posters would be here before I opened. She said that I had to pay her $179.00. I then told her that I would call her back. She kinda freaked out then complied. I then called my mother, who has been the front desk lady for my father's chiropractic clinic for over 30 years. She very kindly offered to call this "Marie Jordan" and act as my office manager. She told Marie that we were all set. Marie just said Ok, and hung up. If it is required, and if she is not a scammer, wouldn't she be a little more likely to enforce it rather than just hang up? My opinion, SCAM!!
- Badge714 replies to DocThese poster can be gotten FREE. The scammer calls you & tells you it is the law you have to have them. They sell them to you, at a very inflated price. That's how the scam works. Contact your local Government for the posters.
- HR in ChattanoogaInteresting. I got this call from a satellite office - message said 'would like to speak to owner' and name of company is something like US Compliance Office. I have been in HR for nearly 20 years and immediately thought SALES call but our Compliance Officer is out of town on vacation so they asked me to call back because the messages sounded very official and they are asking to speak with owner. I did call back, introduced myself as Director of HR and that I was returning a call received on a voice mail at our Kansas City office. She simply said, 'OK then, this was a call about labor law posters but it sounds as if you have a department that handles that' and I said we did (All In One is awesome, by the way!).. She then asked if she could have the number they had called so they could remove us from their call list. I appreciated that. Guess if you sound 'official' and on top of things, they realize they won't scare-sell you into buying the compliance info. FYI - for smaller companies and start ups, just about everything you need to know will be on your state .gov website - what must be posted, etc. All In One is a great resource for us because we have so many locations and states it is difficult to keep up wtih what must be posted where, but yes - you must have certain items posted or be fined if you are audited. There is some truth to their scare tactics.
