    Received a call from this number they say they are Delaware Asset Management. They left message that I have a civil compliant against my name and ss#. I called them back she told me that I owe a payday loan from 2005 and I owe 1500 but they would settle for 500.00 or they would have me served. Also she emailed me This:
       This letter is to confirm that Delaware Asset Management has been authorized to accept payment in full for the above referenced account, in the amount of $536.20 due in our office on or before 12/14/2012. Upon the clearance of funds the above mentioned account will be considered "paid in full" and all three credit bureaus will be updated accordingly. In addition you will have no legal obligation to No Faxing Payday Loan.com or any of its affiliates ever again.

       Please be advised if the terms of this agreement are not met, we will proceed as is necessary to protect the interests of this office and those of our client for the balance, plus any accrued interest, charges, and/or attorney fees permitted by the terms of the original contract and agreement, between yourself and the original creditor, or as provided by law.

      Please take note that we have a payment processing company handling all of our payments for your protection as well as ours.  When you receive your credit card billing statement, it will read: BRACLAIRE MGMT.  Please write that down so that there is no confusion when you get your monthly statement.

    Has anyone else had this problem....

    It's a SCAM, do NOT pay them anything!  Tell them you need proof of the debt IN WRITING to your address, which, if this is a LEGIT call, they should have.  DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION.  Repeat that you need written confirmation NOT EMAIL and then hang up.  SCAMMERS!!!

    Yes I 100 percent agree with gls. . and call bac and was greeted by he asked was  i  still employed at business X I told him there is no need for that and I would tell him where I work and he continue to argue stating we're not goin I told him there is no need for that and I would tell him where I work and he continue to argue stating we're not going to have a conversation do you want to pay for this.    I spoke with a so called supervisor and asked who he got my info from and who he worked for. All this info he had little to no answer to. Also he ended up telling me  Delaware assets management got my file from themself and it was never in any other companies hands...I guess paperwork comes from thin air in their office.  The # I got a call from was 866-226-4327. The man I talked to was Jay Hanson. Not sure if these guys use different names each time. Stay strong when you talk to these they can tell your worried by your voice. Don't fight them! Just be nice and when they get rude ask them what company allows any employees to act in such a manner? This gets them hot when they can't get you pissed off. Haha

    Last thing they said i had 2 collections with Summit group and BMG loans. They said that these are the lending companies that give the money to the website promotional companies that you give your informatione to for the loan. I looked up BMG and it went back to Bahamas Management group. This was also a scam company. Didn't look up Summit but I'm sure I know what it is.

    This place has been calling for my husband. I also spoke with Jay Hanson. He would not let me speak to the "attorney" he claims to work for. I added their number to the block list for my phone, but only after telling him I was hanging up on him before he could hang up on me (I may have raised my voice a little...). Anyhow, from the looks of things all over the internet this is a scam. How they got all his personal information I will never know.

    Hello -
    well this is reassuring - received the same call today from some aggressive AH saying he is an attorny and will be serving me a summons and complaint from a past payday loan that I did not pay.
    I asked him to verify his identity (which he responded I am asking too many questions - HA!)
    also I asked him to veriify the address of the payday loan and full information about him
    He did not listen to me or identify who is is / was and said he was in the NY area (liar !!)

    All of the comments are very reassuring.  Delaware Asset Managment has been calling me for several months using 7 different "process servers" or "paralegals" all threatening to come to my job and my home regarding 2 different payday loans.  They sent me that same letter they sent you-but the name on the bottom is different than the name of the "paralegal".  I unfortuantely gave my cc# info, but now I am forwarding all of this to my lawyer...thanks for all of the info.

    I just received a call on my cellphone. He stated that he was from Delaware Asset Management he was calling from 1-866-883-2544. He stated that I had a legal matter against me for fraud and that if I wanted to settle out of court I'd better call him back immediately. I tried calling the number back and it went directly to message recording for me to leave a message....

    I wonder how they got my number I live in another state???

    The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

    •is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
    •refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
    •asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
    •exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

    If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

    •Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
    If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.•Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
    •Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
    •Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
    •Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

    confused in Az
    Glad I looked this up. I too received a call at my work last week about papers needing to be served to me asap! He confirmed my address and phone #. I work in the food service industry and only had very few mins to chat, and made this known to him. And notified this guy that I literally work all day 3 days a week, but would be willing to talk when I could fit it in. And requested a call back the next day. Thurs and fri passed with no call. I received a message this mon from a woman notifying me of papers that were going to be served and we needed to schedule a time. To add, I am well aware of money that I owe for one overdue title loan, and a few other things, but thought this kind of odd the way they were playing phone tag w me. Still w no info on who or what this was about. I called and it went to voice mail, so I left a message. I got a call the next day, while at work, saying the proceedings were placed on hold because they have a settlement offer for me. I called back on way to second job, and of course had to leave another message. At this point, a supposed Charles Taylor had called to day he'd wait for my call today. I called back this morn and yet again, no answer and straight to VM. I was worried at first, and all week about this of course. But, at this point, and after reading all these postings I am beginning to believe that my first impression was correct. I've been served papers once before, officially. And there was never a scheduled time made for it. They just showed up and I took care of the situation. This run around is just too ridiculous to be official in my opinion for sure! If its real, bring the papers already! Otherwise im not entertaining this any longer. The # I was asked to call was 866-595-7396 as a supposed direct line to Charles Taylor who never answers. And was the number left two days before by the woman who called. Dont think im falling for this stuff. Thanks for the courage and all your comments!

    I received a message from our switchboard operator from a Mr Kline ext 127. He told the operator that he wants to know the address of our company so that I can be served papers. I have seen previous comments about this man Mr Kline and his company Delaware Assets Management. I also contacted an attorney that told me that if I have a debt I can deal with the  company that sold the debt to Delaware Asset Management ( collection agency ) and deal with them not a harassing,foul mouth, indstigating, collection agency. I have rights under state law that prohibits  profane language, threaten arrest, sending documents to a debtor that falsely appear to be from a court or other official agency. calls at work when told  no personal calls are permitted.

    Has anyone been served any papers from Delaware?  I think they are SCAMMERs.  One lady i spoke to said I owed 6800.00 the other lady said no only 800.00.  I have asked for a letter to make sure I owe this debit so far nothing.  The original payday loan company has never used Delaware nor is Delaware on the listing for collection agencies.
