This number calls everyday about 12:00pm EST. When I answer the phone there is a voice that tells me that I need to Call Bank of America at 1-866-226-9554 and enter in this code regarding the credit card application.
I have dialed this number several times and it has a message then disconnects. Every time it calls it states a different number to enter.

Received the same call but it was regarding an online bank application. This is complete fraud. Do not provide any information to the number.

I have gotten this call every since I applied for a replacement checkcard- BOA says it is not legitimate- but how did someone know I applied for the card??? I called the number-it does not exist- weird?

i too recieved a call from this number saying that i need to call and provide them the msg code which they have given.i think its a fraud call

This is real.  I got a call from it and then got connected to a Bank of America representative who verified my information.  I then hung up and called Bank of America directly and talked to a person who said they had on file that they spoke to me at that time regarding my account application.

Still, I would not go through this number but call BOA directly to make sure your personal information isn't being stolen.  I got really scared for a while, especially after reading the skepticism about the validity of this number.

Same here -- got the call for a savings account I applied for with BoA. Maybe this is an auto-generated call that they used to use and need to cancel? Bizarre. I am going to call BoA and ask them about it.

BEWARE!!  Do NOT call this number and give out any information. I called Bank of America Customer Service and they told me this is not a legitimate Bank of America number. I was told this is a rampant problem and that Bank of America does not call and ask customers for their information over the phone.

yes it is a valid number. when you apply online and dont go to the bank directly they verify via phone......

they ask questions that only you can answer from your credit report.
they are making sure you actually applied online...and not someone else!!!!!
