This number is calling stating that they are NRIS an investigational service, but when questioned they hang up.

I have obviously heard of NCIS but never NRIS.

Left a pre recorded message stating someone's name I am unfamiliar with is a person of interest  in an investigation and are requesting a statement from that person or their attorney. Sounds like a scam to me.

Got a robocall asking for a name similar to mine but definitely different from mine, claiming that said person was a "person of interest" in an investigation. No intelligible info identifying the caller. 99% certain it's fraud or a scam, since this is not how legitimate law enforcement, legal professionals, or private investigators operate—they won't make robocalls, and they won't call you a person of interest in a phone message (that tends to tip off actual criminals that someone's on to them). Not sure what the underlying scam is, but they're clearly trying to frighten law-abiding people into doing something stupid.

Got a call from them but did not say a name but that I needed to get in contact with 866-228-6325 and that I had been officially notified.
