Actually, I did not get a call from this number, but am adding a message to let people know what it is.  It is Trustmark National Bank, specifically the mortgage collections line.  I work for this company, so thought I would let people know this in case they wondered.

You probably couldn't get through because right now there are only 2 mortgage collectors and they are flooded with calls. And our payment posting department is understaffed and has problems. Whenever you know you've made a payment and have a problem, call 8008442000 and ask for payment posting, or for Brenda Terrell.

For the past couple months I have received a call from Trustmark Bank just about every day. There literally were weeks that they apparently thought that calling everyday would get a call back. I was highly ticked off.
You see I got all of the calls at once, talk about a very long time listening to voice mail...I don't really use that phone for anything other than internet, and WiFi. I just check the voice mail once every  couple months so to clean up these call and. Political calls.

After reading your post here I decided to call. All those calls and they were actually looking for someone else. The best of it is that they had called once in the past for the same reason, searching for the same person or anyone who might him. They promised that they were taking me off the list. Hah!

They are a scam. Buy old debt and try to collect with unfair business practices. Do not pay them a thing.

E mail is not a legal valid way of communicating legal papers or anything about debt collection.  Hopefully you did not sign them.
This is a common ploy by criminals attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this,  all for an alleged or nonexistent debt.  One of the tricks they use is to call your work place repeatedly in an attempt to shame you into paying.  They also use the “process server” who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

They call before my mortgage payment is even late. It's due on the 1st but not technically late until the 16th. They will start calling on the 2nd. It's been this way since I financed my home 4 years ago. Sad thing is, I always pay before the 16th and have never ran 30 days behind. Four years into it and every month, harassment!

No, it is due on the first and is late if not paid on the first.  You use your grace period every month which is why they are calling you all the time.  Completely your fault for not taking the time to actually read and understand the contract you signed.  Your lawyer should have explained all of this to you as well.
