    This number is for "Mutual Partners." Tonight I received a call from a number with my local area code stating someone who is VERY loosely affiliated with my family was "in trouble" and had "charges and a claim against him." When I attempted to call back the local number to find out why on earth I was getting a call looking for this person I got a recording saying I had reached the "investigation department" and to hang up. Calling back the 866 number I didn't get a person.

    Some research led me to another number: 888-337-3514. (https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-888-337-3514)
    The comments there pretty much sum up my interaction this evening; I am almost certain this is the same company.

    I all of a sudden received a call from Mutual Partners at my job. I explained that I wasn't sure why this call was about and that I was at work. They explained that they were a law office and a representative was on there way to serve me papers. If I didn't talk to them before that happened she couldn't help me. I explained again that I was at work and couldn't speak. They preceded to call my job, family, and cell over 6 times each in a 3hr window. They are using the 866 and a 954 to threaten. This needs to stop.

    Had to file a complaint with the Attorney General's office after mutual partners stated they had a claim against me and if I didn't give them 1025.00 immediately they would send someone to serve me papers.  then an investigator called saying he was bringing me papers to appear in court and he was bringing them to my job to humiliate me.  called my phone and co-workers over 10 times!!!!  I have no idea what this about, but never give out your bank information over the phone.  when you try to call the # back he says its investigations and don't leave a message.

    I received a very threatening phone call from a local area code number, they left this number as a call back.  I contacted an attorney who stated that they are a scam company trying to collect old debt and get peoples bank information.

    The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

    •is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
    •refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
    •asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
    •exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

    If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

    •Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
    If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.•Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
    •Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
    •Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
    •Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

    This company has called me over and over again..."mutual partners" Indeed, this is a debt that I currently owe... but this company is fake. They have called my job over and over saying they are going to serve me papers... They call me from the company....
    I asked them for an address.. they will NOT provide one... I have asked them to fax me a letter head to my job... they will NOT provide...
    I explained that I will NOT pay over the phone and they repeatedly ask for a "pre paid" debit card because I did not want to provide my credit card number or my bank info. This company is fake, I contacted the BBB and they dont show up...I contacted the Attourney General and plan to try to get this scam closed down. They are rude, harrassing, and fake. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS...
    Oh.. and the so called person that was going to serve me papers... when i call the number back... it says ive reached the Investigation department and to hang up..
    Im sorry but if a company really wants money they WILL allow you to send money via check or money order to their place of business...
