unsolicited uber eat debit from the mail .... be aware of fake debit activation scam ...

Yes, very weird call. The first one was a lady who sounded Indian or middle eastern(pretty sure middle eastern). She told me I had some type of “promotion” but didn’t really explain what it was.. hung up on me quickly even though I was going “along”with it… haha

I got a call and It was a lady who sounded Indian or middle eastern(pretty sure middle eastern). She told me I had some type of “promotion” for food for Uber eats but didn’t really explain what it was.. she hung up on me quickly even though I was going “along”with it… so I called back and it was some fake business answering machine saying that I called during nor working hours. While she had just called me, I called right back, and the robot voice said to call back during their business hours. Which were said to be from 10am-8pm eastern time. I live in eastern time and it was 6:00pm… after that I called back but used *67 and block my number. Now all the sudden they took my call? It was now a middle eastern man who picked up this time though.  So I started to try and get more info and mess with them. I even got him to give me more numbers, it took some effort though. So I'll be trying the other numbers and getting down to what these scammers are up too.. Hopefully i help someone from getting scam & update.

I posted above about the number 1-866-245-1179 and got to add the extra information, sorry. They claimed to be; Uber Eats/Uber Pick-Up/Uber Delivery.

It seems that you have conflicting phone numbers that you are reporting.  So, which is it?

they called to say that they are uber eat customer service , they said I was qualified for uber eat Pro Debit card .... but i will have to activate my card to get uber eat extra money ..... call back at 915-751-2592 and 216-476-1302 / 803-409-9955 and 713-805-2210 / 803-234-8231 and 346-980-5519 / 803-553-0812 and 713-283-1828.

pretending to be Uber eat promotion card services ... they leave bunch serial # to call back : 713-485-4028 , 713-591-4811 , 281-416-4477 , 832-328-7965 , 713-723-3804  and 713-728-0206.

I received a call from uber eats and they never call.  I seen on the news about Amazon and knew it was a scam. Told them to beat it.

Got two calls from this number. I didn’t answer the first one because of the unknown area code but they called again and I thought maybe it was something urgent so I answered and I heard someone breathing hoarsely. I tried to greet them but there was no reply and then I heard something that sounded scary and I hung up.

Got 2 calls from this number and a message from a guy who had what felt like a Russian accent. He new my name was Edward and he said he was "John from the Marines" and I was invited to new recruitment opportunities. Then it listed a number to call which sounded more like a serial code. Possibly could be Russian scammers taking advantage of the political climate

Accepted an UberEATS order as usual then immediately received a direct text message apparently from the app in Spanish, saying there was an error in the order and it must be canceled. As I'm reading this text an unknown number called me saying it was UberEATS responding to the order, they instructed me that I had to cancel it because they couldn't and had multiple issues with the customer who had place the order in the first place. They told me to cancel the order I had to verify my account to make sure I was the one who had accepted it. To cancel it I had to verify my name, and car model, plates etc. which then made me eligible to receive a promotional debit card/gift card that would be added to my account because of how the pandemic was affecting the drivers. When I said I didn't want this the supposedly UberEATS rep said, that if I wanted to cancel the promotion after the verification my UberEATS account would be suspended 4-5 weeks. Yeah...NO! I immediately called the uber customer service number from the app to secure my account and when I told them about this promotion issue they said there is no such thing, clearly a SCAM!

I got the same call with a call back number 800-253-9425
