They claim to be looking for someone for a court case.  Even though I told them I have never heard of the person, they assured me they would keep calling.

I just got a call from them it was a recorded message saying that there is a formal complaint against me, wouldn't say who they were, which is a big red flag, and were overly aggressive another red flag. This is a scam don't call them back best thing you can do is block the number.

    Tired of this nonsense
Got a call from 866-245--3103. Someone who was unable to pronounce my name threatened me with court. They have called me several times before, plus called my relatives, about money I do not owe. They are called Coastal. I have reported them to Florida AG office and FTC to no avail. When I tell them I know they are a scam they insist they are bringing me to court. Nothing seems to be able to stop them, although I see many complaints on the internet about them.

Got a call from 866.245.3103 leaving a disturbing message saying they are looking for someone that is my name and this is regarding a formal complaint. The problem is I have good credit and never been late on anything. Also they don't say who they are calling on behalf of. RED FLAG. my suggestion would be call your local police and let them know these people are leaving messages like this

These stupid ppl just called and said I owe them money.  Says they're compass capital.  I looked on compass capital's website and on there they state there are some ppl passing as them and are committing fraud.  By law these idiots HAVE to send you a bill of what you owe and who the creditor is,  etc.  When ask to seems that,  they just say that they've sent numerous bills,  etc.   I've never recieved anything from them.   SCAM.    It's just REALLY DISTURBING that they have all our information right down to our bank info.

Right?!!  They said I took out a loan online and money was deposited into my bank account.   Wth?!!  I would've known if there was money in my account!   Plus,  they said they are collecting a debt and the creditor is compass capital.   On compass capital's website, there is a notice that says they are aware that there's someone or some ppl posing as compass capital and that they are committing FRAUD.  That's coming from Compass Capital THEMSELVES!!!  DON'T SEND THEM ANYTHING!!!

I get these calls at the same time every year.  I don't answer the phone when they call and they leave the same message every time.  Another red flag that isn't mentioned in the complaints below is that my name is said in a digital voice.  It is very frustrating.  I have changed my phone number a few times and I am still getting calls from them.

All payday loans are a scam, but not withstanding, the following applies:

This is a common ploy by criminals attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this,  all for an alleged or nonexistent debt.  One of the tricks they use is to call your work place repeatedly in an attempt to shame you into paying.  They also use the “process server” who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.
