call back to avoid legal action .left no name of company

Something about respond or be liable for legal action.

Calls me at least 3 times a day. Never leaves a message.

Called about someone that has not lived here in 20+ years. Which wouldn't be AS bad if I didn't know he hasn't been able to work for four years now and moved to Texas two years prior to that. It's a daily call now and when I call them to get a company name to call the BBB with, they hang up on me.

They left voice message saying about a legal matter and something about being served. I call number back. Man that answered said company was Phoenix Legal Group.

Something about a legal action but when it called the number said something went wrong error

I keep getting calls saying I owe money for a past due debt. No explanation. Nothing. I did give them $400.00. Yikes! Help!

A phone call, email or text message from a supposed debt collector is not legally sufficient evidence of debt.

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) includes statements such as this:

Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money.   ["Written" means snailmailed - US Mail ... not emailed or texted]

Therefore, if that caller wants you to pay immediately, before you get the written validation notice via snailmail, or if the caller wants payment via Green Dot, MoneyGram, Western Union, prepaid gift card or other untraceable means, then the call is definitely not legitimate.

I got the exact same message

Scam.  No legitimate process server calls you up in advance and tells you he or she is coming by.  Ignore and block these calls.
