"Karen Jones" calling about my student loans. Asked me to call 866-245-8118 and give reference number.
NO student loans here.

Got the same call from Karen Jones with reference #. I am paying on my student loans but she did not identify what company she was with. My student loans are federal and I never get calls about them.

VOICEMAIL - Real person claiming the name Karen Jones called from SC number 803-676-8185. Left a message saying she needed to discuss my student loan repayment. Did not mention a company or loan servicer. Directed to call back a toll free 866-245-8118 number. Gave me a reference number.

I have no student loans so I suspect this is a scam.

Much like other posts here, I received a call from "Karen Jones" requesting a call back regarding repayment options of student loans.  She left a reference number also.  Fortunately, I couldn't get through when I tried to call, so I Googled the phone number and found out it's just a scam.  So, Thank you!

Got the same call from the same ph# and ref#.  "Karen Jones"...?  Really?  That raised my suspicion immediately.

Same here!  I never even finished college back in 1983 - never even heard of student loans at tat time in NYC - total scam!

Received two of these calls over the last week on our house phone number. I knew it was a scam because I hadn't provided this number to my school or loan servicer. First call was from "Karen Jones" 866-582-0440 with ref # 077704. Second call from "Stephanie Morris" 866-245-8118 with ref # 220203. Blocked both numbers. I'm certain they are phishing for personal information. Didn't ask for anyone by name, and didn't say which company they were from.

I received the same call on June 13 with the same reference #.  Definitely a scam

Got a message from same Karen Jones at 866-245-8118. Called the number and told the man I was still in school, and he hung up on me. Scam..

This very smooth and professionally sounding scammer claiming to be Karen Jones gave me a ref # 220203.without referring to any financial institution wanted to discuss a restructuring of my student loan (which I paid off 58 years ago!)  ALL BEWARE!

Says she, Karen Jones, is trying to contact me about my Student Loan... but I haven’t had any student loans for 2 decades!!!   There’s no way I’m calling back, I guess I’ll try blocking it ...  Instead of wasting time/money protecting me from “bad hombres” from Mexico, I wish the government would start protecting me from “bad people on the internet and bad people making scam cell phone calls and malware and stealing my identity.

Got the same message from Karen Jones today.  Same call back number, and same exact reference number of 220203.  It's after business hours right now but I most certainly am going to call back tomorrow and light them up!

I keep getting the same person/message.  Has been calling me from different numbers from around the country. I have no such loans also.  The most recent call from Karen Jones came from Nevada from a Clarence Howard telephone number  (775) 302-1148.  She states that I have a Federal student loan that needs to be addressed and gives me a reference number and wants me to call 866-245-8118. This is a scam
