- Kay| 1 replyAnswered and heard a recording of a woman's voice that was purposefully static and garbled. So I started to say "I love pizza" but when I got the first word out it disconnected. Surely looking to see if I was a live phone number. I'll bet dollars to donuts I get a telemarketer call within the next half an hour.

- JOHN TARVER| 1 replyTHIS IS A SCAM SO BEWARE! These are ex-employees of David Hynes from Rumson Bowling & Associates, Joseph Steven & Associates, and other bogus names. They are NOT a law firm, they are absolute morons which would make you dumber if you give them money. if you have sent them money you should immediately contact the US Postal Service Investigations unit and report it as mail fraud or the United States Secret Service to report WIRE FRAUD.

Just another operation run by felons and drug addict bums they must of got of the street last month. They are no were to be found as they filed this scam company last month and a mere call to the bbb and the federal trade commission is all it took as they said my assumptions were correct, THAY ARE AN ILLEGAL ENTERPRISE! BEWARE! CALL THE AUTHORITYS IF THEY CALL YOU!
- They are fraud replies to Susan Seville| 4 repliesRutter Riesman & Associates FRAUD - COLLECTION AGENCY SCAM- BEWARE Calabasas California
Down right liars!
David Hynes, Ashley Lindstrom, Frank Lindstrom, Kevin Meadly and the rest of you. DO NOT PAY THESE GUYS A PENNY. The idiots operating this company called me and asked for money to sue one of my debtors. I came to find out that they have no legal authority to operate in my state. The lies that came out of these morons mouths showed their lack of intelligence.
If you're thinking of using them don't waste your time or money. Contact the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and submit a report. - BigA replies to They are fraudI'm confused. This is a debt collection agency, yet they asked you for money to sue one of your debtors? Did you issue credit to this debtor?
- MikeHuntleton replies to They are fraud| 2 repliesI don't know the first thing about how debt collections work, but I can see your story just doesn't make any sense! That company may be a scam, but I'm having difficulty understanding why a debt collector would be asking you to pay THEM, so THEY could sue YOUR debtor and you would come here to make a statement about it.
- Kellie replies to MikeHuntleton| 1 replyI think I understand.
They are like those vulture lawyers, coming in hospital when you are injured.
This whoever they are, want to sue her debtor in her name and they want money. Only problem is, they can't do that because they don't have legal authority in her State.
Now question, how do they know she has debtors (for example, I don't have)?
Or maybe I read to much John Grisham novels :))) - MikeHuntleton replies to KellieAhh, ok, that makes sense now....thanks! But it seems odd they replied to that person....
- M King| 4 repliesSo, I was contacted by Rutter Reisman & Associates to see if I had any Debts I wanted to be collected. One came to mind and these guys were all over me. So they were asking to take 18% of my collection as payment. Next thing I know they are asking for a litigation fee of $3333.00. I was dumb founded at first. So I tried to actually send them money and all five times I was denied funds from my investment account. HAD TO BE A SIGN! I called them today and no one answered the phone the 8 to 10 times I called. I had issue with prior phone calls when the dumb woman answered the phone and didn't know what I was talking about. So I hung up and the guy called me back. He told me that they liened the money from the guys account and just needed my fee. I did research and found their address at a local UPS store in Calabasas, CA

- CWG40Basically debt collectors.
So far as I can determine, they are not a law firm in the sense of being a firm with attorneys who actually practice law.
If they were a legitimate law firm, there would be some sort of business form such as LLC or PC or regular corporation with registration with the California Secretary of State. I can't find any.
Seems to me they are acting like many debt collectors who ID themselves as a law firm but which are in fact nothing more than third-party debt collectors.
Other sites report things like
1. Calling late at night.
2. Calling and claiming that a "formal complaint" has been filed.
The indicia of a debt scammer.
Can't imagine anyone falling for anything this group is offering.

In any event,
Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:
1. Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2. Demand a debt validation letter by US mail. E-mail no good.
3. Do not pay the collection agent or anyone else a dime until the debt is validated
Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.
If they are bothering you, report them:
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening civil proceedings with no intent to follow through, or threatening criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.) The same goes for endless telephone harassment
Note that the US Supreme Court in the Case of HENSON ET AL. v. SANTANDER CONSUMER USA INC., has recently ruled that the provisions of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act do not apply if the creditor owns the debt in question. As a practical matter this probably won't effect the kinds of scam debt collectors who often show up on 800notes. The scam collectors don't give you any information about themselves so it is impossible to know whether or not they in fact "own" the debt in question. Most do not send debt validation letters and many often say they are collecting for someone else. So, make the complaint anyway if they are bothering you. Let the FTC sort it out.
Also contact your local attorney general
If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.
You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them. Tell 'em no scammy debt collector is going to push you around.
You have to get tuff with these people because, being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking). the only thing they understand.- Caller: Informational post

- Gary replies to I was scammedGo online and file a report with state Attorney General and with mass complaints the AG wil go after them, without numbers complaining he will not go after these crooks!
- RickWe sent in payments to settle a debt and the money never reached the other end. They tried to get money from the other end as well, but the other end thought something was up. There address is from a UPS Store Box. They AG has since put a search warrant on the mailbox and people are told to call the AG office to file a complaint.
