DONOTCALL.GOV - are not who they say they areI received a unknown call on my cell and since I don't answer unknown callers I waited to see if they would leave a message. I did receive a voicemail and the man said his name was Jason and that he was from Chase. I came here to look up the # and saw people saying report them, I'm glad I checked here first. I also knew that I didn't have any issues with my Chase account, so I went ahead and called Chase. I asked if there were issues with my account because I had received a call from them. Chase told me that they had not called me. I'm not sure who this was who called me.
- janice cavanaugh replies to CHASEYou had a dept collector call me form the number. His name was Mike. According to my lawyer he violated about 17 laws. I will be filing a formal complaint with the CT Attorney Generals Office on Monday morning. He wanted to speak to members of my family. He tried to make me defraud other card companies to settle with Chase. He demanded to know what my Ilness was and wanted to speak to my doctor. I told him I had intended to contact Chase in the second week of November. because I thought I would be able to settle with Chase in two installments. I could pay $2000 on the third of December and $2000 on the third of January. He told me that the amout was fine but I would have to pay Chase by the middle of November. I told him that was impossible. He was outragous when I could not agree with his demands. I ask very in approprate questions and the lawyer I spoke to said that those conversations are always taped and that the attorney Generals office will want to have a copy of that tape. I am ill I do not not know how much longer settlement will be and option for my creditors. If you are not willing to except what I am able to settle for I will take my offer to my next creditor. I would very much like to make some kind of settlement before I am no longer here to do it. Chase has always been kind to me when I spoke to them. I did not know I that Chase had sent me to a collection agencey util I call Chase after my conversation with this man named Mike. There is very little time and avalible assets left. I assure you ther will be nothing in my estate when I pass. I will not speak to any person who behaves like this man did again. If you are interested in a settle me please have a normal human being call me. Thank you, Janice Cavanaugh
- ArthurThese guys called me today. I have no business with Chase... AND I am in Canada!.. Oh Brother...

- Vincent| 1 replyI don't think this is actually Chase. I am getting calls from a number in San Antonio Texas, 1-210-520-1454. When I search for this number online it is registered to a private person in San Antonio. They leave messages asking me to call Chase at 866-252-5777. I looked up the main Chase customer service number, which is 877-242-7372 and called them instead. I don't have any accounts at Chase Bank -- no credit cards, no mortgage, nothing. I confirmed with them that I do not have any accounts, as I was concerned that someone had opened an account in my name. Nothing in their files. I have a strong suspicion that the Texas phone number is a scammer and they are running the scam from the 800 number to make it seem more legitimate. Creeps.

- HSQ| 1 replyReceive a very professional call every few days from Chase about some debt. We have never had a Chase account or card and they won't give enough info to validate anything. I am treating this as a scam.

- Jimi| 2 repliesThey sent me a letter with this number to settle a credit card account with them. My balance was $545 and they wanted to settle for $57. I am very suspicious of this.

- Dan replies to DeniseI called another number from Chase and asked to be transferred to their collections department. They gave me the same settlement offer that was in the letter, so it seems that it really was from Chase.
- QueenieI received a letter offering to settle. I believe it is legit. First it had Chase's ink logo & return address. Second, when I looked back in my records, the address that it gave to send payment to, if I accepted the offer is the SAME EXACT address that I sent my credit card payment to. Third, when I entered the website address given, chase.com/ink, it took right to their site. I'm STILL going to call them, to make sure, because I do want to pay this bill & get everything squared away.
- Pam GordonI received a letter with this phone number wanting me to settle a debt from 644.00 to 64.71. It seems legit, but I'm not sure.
- Dora M Christophersen| 1 replyThe amount is excessive, because as of the month of march , barhight and holsinger cut off my phone and the call was by phone the attorney i forget her first name but thr last is petrone. Have been paying monthly my dues and she called and said that i should not pay march dues, because my aparment was sold.
Is this legal, can an attorney just call and tell you that she sold your apartment?
I am now looking for a legal attornet- Caller: BARGBARHIGT AND HOLSINGERSINGER
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- DORA M CHRISTOPHERSENThe call was not a scam suspicion. My payments are all up to date. The attorney's name petrone. I am hoping that this reaches the owners of this condominion
their names are barghite and holsinger - Stu Wargle replies to Dora M ChristophersenWell the only part of either one of your two parts that is translatable is that you are going to consult an attorney. Most likely your condo can be sold at anytime. Try using coherent English when you talk to this attorney or else he will never figure out what you what him to do.
- Rex S replies to Jimi| 1 replyThis settlement is actually common. $57 is actually believable. Have them prove to you that they own the debt and pay it. You are will done with it.
- BigA replies to Rex SReally?
I think that there is more to it then that. How about that they actually prove that people actually owe the debt to begin with? For instance, how old is this debt. A payment will reset the Statute of Limitations. Now let's address that letter. Did it contain everything the law says it should? We don't know that. If it only contained certain information and not what the law said it should then nothing should be paid to them since they broke the law. You seem really eager to have people pay money. I'm thinking you are another one of the uneducated nitwits that works for outfits like this.Quote:Have them prove to you that they own the debt
