Just got a 'long distance' call from this number. No message left.

I have registered with 'Canada No-call.' Am now wondering if it really works.

Earlier today I got a call from another 'Unknown name' with the phone number of 000-000-0000. Apparently this could be a legitimate long distance call, a telemarketer, or a harassing call from a debt collector.

Seems a cowardly way to communicate. I am not afraid to converse with a legitate company (even if they are collecting a debt) or a person, who is identified by name. But, 'unknown name' might as well be hiding behind a Halloween mask.

I've recently been called numerous times by this number 866-259-0272.  I have answered once and the person on the other end spoke a language other than English or French.  I hung up but have continuously received calls from this number throughout the day and the evening.  It's annoying but they had their one chance to tell me what the call was about and they screwed that up.  I think that Do Not Call List was a joke because though I've registered I still get almost as many calls as I did all summer when there was no Do Not Call List.

I've received numerous calls from this number as well.  I haven't answered yet, but I'm on the Do Not Call list too.

I have been getting calls daily, and 3 times today from this number.  I answered once a few weeks ago and someone asked for me by name but couldn't hear me when I spoke and that person hung up.  When I dialed back, it was a Medicin Sans Frontier automated message.  MSF has my e-mail.  If it was important they should leave a message or email me, not call me all day everyday.  I haven't answered again.

I have emailed MSF/Doc. Without Borders and told them I consider all telemarketing calls as harassment and please stop. Being a charity I contribute to, they are exempt from "do not call" list as I understnd it. Right? If they continue I will no longer donate monthy. I HATE telemarketing calls no matter who they come from.

I just called and it really is Medicin Sans Frontier. I have donated to them in the past so they had my number. I'm on the Do Not Call list but the other commenter is right that charities are exempt. I told MSF I that I respect their charity but was very bugged that their computer keeps dialing my number. They apologized, they acknowledged that it is a problem and said they will be fixing it in the new year, can't fix it right now but will be doing that. I believe them; they are a respectable charity and it would not be in their interest to lie about something like that. They want to keep their donors! I asked them to input into the computer not to bother me for awhile at least and they input for it not to call me for 6 months. Hopefully, by then, they'll have fixed their system so that we don't have to be bugged in this way anymore.

 I called the doctors without borders main office and confirmed that the number 866 259 0272 is used by them for donations.  All charities are not part of the Do Not Call list, so it is valid for them to call you.  They are a reputable charity.  I was confirming the phone number for myself because of the many cases of fraud that keep occurring.

Although I can understand your frustration, I can't believe you would stop donating to a charity you seem to support.
Just don't answer the phone, is that so hard?

I've been getting calls on my cell from this number over the last few days too.

Just now was the first time I'd answered.  There was no one speaking on the other end of the line.  Not sure what it's about...

Computer hangs up - called at 8:45 PM.

are you kidding? i have flushed the toilet in these people's ears 5x and they STILL call back. yes, it is hard to avoid 3-5x a day from some hack [***] telemarketers and they are [***] with doctors without borders money flow cause i sure as [***] will never donate to them again. FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL

I am getting repeated calls from this number.
Because I do not recognize it, I do not answer.
Isn't there some way to stop these sort of calls???
