    Got a few of these calls from 866-259-1639 and there was no-one there.  I called back and it turns out that it is the number for the SPCA.  For all I know, it may be a call center on behalf of the SPCA.  I told them that I NEVER donate by phone and I requested that they take me off their call list.  It remains to be seen if they will call again.

    I have been receiving these calls which are proving to be quite invasive. Given the cost of cell phones in Canada, I wonder if it were within the realm of possibilities to make include some manner of protection against these parasites. I contribute regularly to charities, especially entities dedicated to animal care, but do object to what could very well prove to be calls from dishonest seekers of vacuous fortunes.
