- Thomas Raymon| 1 replyI called the above number to find out why there was a deduction of $9.74 on my bank account. The person (who I had a hard time understanding) said that is was for a prescription for a diet supplement. I could not understand the explanation for the deduction, and I hung up.

- plefe replies to Thomas RaymonI just called them and received the same response. It is a dietary supplement called Garcinia they said I ordered March 3, 2014 and that the charge was a monthly service fee. They did have my address and name information, but was nice enough to supposedly cancel the account. The company is called AW My Healthy Helper86 out of the UK.
- smoothyit was easy, went to my bank they stopped payment and put a block on any further payments, they are aware of this scam and are having them investigated
- D KyleI called the number and spoke w/ customer service after finding a charge for $9.74 on my last USAA CC stmt. They had my name and address. I allegedly ordered a product last December (I don't recall). I asked for a complete refund of the monthly charge since last December. They closed my acct. at my immediate request and stated I would receive no further billings. They would only refund the latest charge.

- NadiaI ordered the sample pack for 58.95. When I got to the checkout process, they had charged me 198.00. I called them to cancel and they said "it was too late to cancel". So now I have to wait until that payment is processed to file a complaint with my bank.
- Don't Bother MePhone scam _ Family Arrested, Accident, etc..
"The victim is informed by the caller that the victim's family member was involved in a motor vehicle accident with the caller,'' "The caller tells the victim that the family member is being held hostage by force until the caller receives payment from the victim.''
Police said if people receive such calls they should:
Never wire money to people they don't know without verifying the information first, either by trying to contacting the family member or going to the police for help.
Not hold long conversations with the caller; instead hang up and contact police.
Always check the information separately from the information that was provided by the caller.
Try contacting the family member, call others and ask, contact the police and ask.

I was told that my son was involved in an MVA that morning & under arrest for wreckless endangerment & DUI in the jail in Lancaster, Pa. Stated that he struck a woman who was 4 months pregnant & had to be airlifted since they "couldn't stop the bleeding" Despite trembling inside, I expressed disbelief & said my son didn't have a car. They abruptly hung up on me. Some sick people out there!
- Caller: "Paralegal Division"
- RTReceived same message as above, that someone had been in a wreck & this was the police, that my number was the detainee's contact info. I asked what number they had dialed and they hung up.

- DeniseMy brother in law (who is special needs) received a phone call saying his brother (my husband) was in an accident.
He was so nervous, couldn't understand why the person was calling him. The caller then hung up. - Unknown NameReceived a call from this number stating it was the Glendale Police Department (a local suburb of Denver where we live). Said his name was Sargent xxx. Stated my husband had been involved in a traffic accident involving using his cell phone while driving. Told me it was in violation of Statue xxxx. Said my husband (called him by name) asked him to call me as he needed $1000 bail. Gave me his name, badge number and phone number. Told him I would need to call him back. Called my husband and he was fine, thank goodness. How cruel can a scammer be? Hopefully with all of the postings here, action can be taken against the caller.

Sick, sick people!
- JustinCase replies to unknown nameMy apologies you were hit by this terrible trick, unfortunately, though, that's a risk you take when you're answering unknown numbers in any way. "Persistent that you not call anyone and stay on the line?" You can probably figure out why that was said. Play it safe and ignore unknown numbers entirely, even with a machine if possible. Thankfully you got your money back.
