I am  not really confident of calls from the 866 area code. This call they said was from On Star,I think it was.

Unlike most who received phone calls, I got this number in several emails purportedly from OnStar.  The email claimed that my vehicle WiFi hotspot was disabled because of a problem with my credit card and I should call 866-260-4188.  I did not call because there is no credit card problem.  The emails and the phone calls are some type of scam.

I received a similar email, and there is no credit card problem.

I also received an email stating the same and there is no problem with the credit card. It is a scam.

Was sent an email that said to call the above number because their was a problem with my CC. No problems using it the 5x I did in the last 24hrs including about 10min before the email came in. Another [***] scam artist.

Same email as others.  They must have hacked OnStar.

I called this # thinking it was on-star; due to rec'g email stating my credit card needed to be updated.  I got a horrible feeling due to how the conversation was going that I said to the guy "I think  you are scamming me"; his reply was "sorry you feel that way".  I hung up and cancelled my credit card on file with On-start

Scam email..its 2022 and they are still at it.

Its definitely a scam number.

June 2, 2022. Received email purportedly from AT&T saying my credit card had expired, so my vehicle's WiFi hotspot has been disconnected. Showed this phone number in the email. Apparently this scam has been around awhile.

How did the scammers get the info regarding our subscription's to OnStar, Is OnStar compromised?

If I am not mistaken, OnStar comes standard on GM vehicles. So, if the the DMV sold your information they would know what type of vehicle you drove and then would know you have OnStar.  Of course, in the alternative they could simply spam thousands of email addresses knowing that they will hit a certain percentage that has OnStar.  Pick whatever conspiracy theory floats your boat.
