- Y22| 2 repliesCaller ID comes in as Delta Group. Man by the name Jamie Lake leaves a message he is calling in reference to a case and provides a case number. This person has also called my relatives saying he is calling because he thinks by identity & information has been compromised.
This seems to be a scam. Found a post on CreditBoards.com that his company is fraudelent.

- TennesseeHickI just got a voice mail tonight from Jamie Lake at the Delta Group referencing our brother in law. Referenced a case number blah blah blah and the 866-264-8381. After reading this, I notified all of my relatives. They must be trying the scam tonight...
- Padraic replies to Y22I had the same scam attempted on me but with a different phone number 866-553-1950 (Check my post). I contacted the Attorney General's Office in Binghamton, NY and was advised that most of these operations are run out of Canada. He stated that it is very difficult to get any agency interested in investigating the complaint unless you have lost money. He also realted that even if you get an agency involved, you would probably never get your money back.
- J.T.I was contacted by jamie lake and told the same thing about my ss # then he tried telling me that I was about to be taken to court for an old debt I had that has long since been taken care of, which I have orig. paper work from that company to confirm this. Then he proceeded to tell me he could except a payment of $900 to keep me from being sued. He also stated when I asked for a total of this debt a number that was over $1500 higher than the actual debt I had with that company. What really hurt his scam is not only do I keep all my old paper work even this which is over 12 years old the orig. company itself went out of business 9 years ago. also I told him I was between banks at the time so I could not give him a check or debit card #. So he then told me to take my fiance's debit card # and give him that. He then threatened that if I did not do this he would lien her property & he doesn't even know her name. after that I hung up on him. He has since left me messages saying I am not a real man that if I was I would handle this and give him the money he asked for, This is the most pathetic attempt at swindeling money out of a person I have ever seen if you are contacted by this man hang up unless you are looking for a good laugh.

- G-DThese people left a message on my sister's answering machine. The guy's name was Steve and he said he was a fraud investigator and that it was in regards to me and to call 866-264-8381. She called and was told by this guy that he is a fraud investigator and that he is looking into a case where some one is trying to steal my identity. She told him no way was she giving him my contact info and he said he didnt want it that he just wants her to have me call him. This all seems to be some kind of scam or something. She had already deleted the caller id so I don't know the number it called from.

- Pissed offThis joke of a company keeps calling and harassing my fiance at work after being told repeatedly not to contact her at her place of employment. I just filed an online complaint with the Attorney General, hopefully these calls will cease soon. The person who she talks with the most is Mr. Martin, what a [***].

- LeAneSomeone called my cell phone and left a message. Male named Jamie Lake rambles on inquiring about an ongoing investigation in my county. States "Do not underestimate the seriousness of this firm's due diligence. A 1099C form will be forwarded to the IRS. This is a time-sensitive issue."
I have not returned his call.- Caller: Delta Group
- gotcatsThis Delta Group tricked me also. They said I was a possible victim of Identity theft so I returned their call. First I told them that if anyone was stupid enough to steal my identity..they were welcome to it. HaHa.
Then they wanted to settle an AT&T cell phone debt at a fraction of the amount owed so I agreed(slaps self in face). Gave them my bank info. Then found out it was a 4 year old account that had long been paid.I called them back to deny the debt and payment. They were crude and rude and hung up on me.
I then filled out paperwork at my bank to block any activity from them.
They are now leaving messages saying they are taking payment unless I call them back. When I do all they do is belittle me and hang up.- Caller: delta group

- Steve| 2 repliesThe fact is, the delta group is a collection agency, but to most of these stellar citizens up here, that want to get annoyed by the fact there getting calls on old bills they NEVER paid. Every piece of debt owned and acted on by the Delta Group is valid, if applicable they will pursue you legally. It's really funny to me, for some of these people above that want to claim "calling me on a bill that was long taken care of", you mean long forgotten about, or a bill i didnt have the means to take care of. The character of people (of course not all, bad things do happen to good people) called by the delta group is clear, THERE DEBTORS, they dont like the fact they might have to PAY on what they OWE!!!! Please just pay your creditors DEBTORS. The world would be a better place.

- gotcats7Steve, When your sanctimonious butt falls off your high horse, I hope you're given the same benefit of doubt that you've displayed. Credit Bureaus make mistakes, Collection agencies make mistakes. And you have made a mistake by saying "every piece of debt owned and acted on by Delta Group blah...blah..blah". You must be an employee. Your mother must be very proud.
- Delta Group = Toxic Lowlifes replies to SteveCheck out www.budhibbs.com:
Bud Says…
Here we go (again!) another Buffalo, NY debt collector using every ruse in the book to hide who they really are.
NYS Corporation listings show:
JOSEPH, ORTIZ & EPSTEIN, LLC
However they are operating as ‘DELTA GROUP’ in spite of not registering that name.
These are VERY bad debt collectors, calling consumers on debts that are too old to collect on, litigate on, or even give them valid reason for accessing your credit files. Are owners Tim Manhard and Joe Colisimo encouraging collectors to violate federal law, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)? Consumers tell us they have a history of representing that they are lawyers.
We could find NO state licensing or bonding anywhere in the nation, as required by law, to collect a debt.
Owners Timothy Manhard, whose last known address is/was, listed on the incorporation papers as:
51 SUNSHINE DRIVE
AMHERST, NEW YORK, 14228
(His number is disconnected)
They are NOT lawyers, NOT connected with any law group, despite their claims to the contrary.
STAY FAR AWAY FROM JOSEPH, ORTIZ & EPSTEIN, LLC, dba/DELTA GROUP! - marythey have called my brother in law every day saying that i am going to go jail and they are trying to represent me in a very important legal matter. a ms. chiles called my brother in law and advised him that i will go to jail for a very long time and it will be his fault for not helping her locate me... after reading the above comments i have instructed my brother in law to tell her off...

- Army GuyThe latest on Delta Group. I recieved a phone call from my sister, who told me a man by the name of Steve Grivis has called her mother-in-law's home twice looking for me. The first time her in laws blew it off, because they have never met me. The second time he called, my sisters brother-in-law stated the only thing he knew, was that his brother married my sister. Steve then asked him for my SSN. He said that my identity was being threatened and that he needed my SSN to stop it. Now why would my inlaws know my social? The brother-in-law told him that he did not have that info and Steve got rude with him. I just called the number back and no one there could give me information. When I asked for Steve Grivis, the lady stated "Hold on and then said I don't think he is in yet." Now not knowing really anything about my inlaws, I have never used them as a referance to purchase anything, and as I look at my credit report, I have no outstanding accounts, so I ask myself, what do they need with my info? This is a scam of the highest caliber and you need to be very cautious.
