Received call tonight, no message left

Received a call, no message. I phoned back, it's Scotiabank. No idea why they called, my account looks fine. Wish they left a message.

My husband just got a call from this number.  They said they were calling from Scotiabank (we have no accounts there), asked if it was indeed my husband (by name) then hung up.

We received similar calls a few months back from some scammer claiming to work for CIBC, so if you get one of these calls be very careful and DO NOT give out any information.  If a bank calls you THEY should have all your information in front of them, so volunteer nothing.

Just got a call from them. Didn't pick up. Why are they calling?!?!! They've been calling for the last couple of days and it's getting annoying.

caller id says scotiabank, but, no message was left. if they were legit, they would have left a message saying "call us back" wouldn't they??

This number is certainly a scam however if you receive a call from your bank they may not actually have your info in front of them depending if they are from another division of the firm. ie. Scotia McLeod will not have your information if you bank with Scotia. They are technically different firms that for your privacy and security won't share info without your consent. Same would apply between any brokerage and the retail bank they are associated with. Royal bank/dominion securities,  bmo/Nesbit burns, etc. Had to chime in as a bank employee that constantly has people believing I'm a scammer when I call because I don't know how much is in their chequing account lol

This number is super sketchy however legitimate services will call and not leave a message just means that it was a sales call probably.

We receive calls from this number regularly, they never leave a message and we dont bank with ScotiaBank..plus they are calling at 8pm, well outside regular business hours...

These b****es at scotiabank keep calling me EVERY...SINGLE...F**KING...DAY...for the past month! Literally! Every day! They just won't give up! They call everyday around 6-7 pm EVERY DAY! OMG! Picked up once and they tried to sell me some credit card s**t. The other time I picked up and they started to ask me to confirm my address and all other personal stuff I said I won't give any personal info over the phone because they sound really fishy. They just hanged up. The hell? I swear if I get anymore of these damn calls I'm storming in to scotiabank and cancel my accounts there because this is just ridiculous!
