866-269-4500

Caller stated he was representing my health insurance carrier.  Requested that I call at my earliest convenience, and that they were available 24 hrs.  Did not identify himself. Gave their callback number as 866-269-4500.  When I googled the number he left and the one that showed on my caller ID, they both came back as suspicious numbers.  I have notified my health insurance carrier.  They informed me that their customer service employees are not on duty 24 hours a day, and that they would be following up on this.

this number belongs to the Aetna insurance company's disease management program ... other commenter mentions suspicious google results, none found ... it's a free outreach program from a legitimate insurance company

Scott is correct. This is a legitimate phone call from Aetna. I Googled it first before calling them back and saw at least two Aetna web sites connected to this number.

If your policy includes this service and you have any chronic medical conditions this is a good service to consider since it is free. They assign a nurse to consult with you on a regular basis and you can stop it or restart it at any time, depending on how helpful you believe it is.

I would especially recommend it for people who are seeing several specialists for different medical conditions. You can also call your contact number for Aetna before calling this service to confirm that it is an Aetna program.

Received the following voicemail recording from 866-269-4500:
Please say Yes or No (followed by a beep). Then, please call us back toll fee at 1-866-269-4500 to hear about an important but no cost health program that we know you'll find extremely helpful. Again that number is 1-866-269-4500. Thank you. Goodbye. (mentions my name) and then, please call us toll free at to hear about an important but no cost health program that we know you'll find extremely helpful. Again that number is 1-866-269=4500. Thank you. Goodbye."

I also received same offer in the mail. The author of the letter is Andrew Baskin, MD, Medical Director from Aetna. It appears this offer is targeting patients with chronic or ongoing health condition. It's probably legit but I don't like the fact that the phone message started out with, "Please say Yes or No". Sounds suspicious to me at to their intent.

Let the answering machine take it, dinner time.  Lots of beeps and call this number for Health information.  Have had calls from this number before.

Follow up to previous message.  If this is legit from Aetna, why the unknown caller?

legit from aetna  - once a quarter if  you renew a prescription for a "chronic" condition like migranes they call about an "exciting" new program: which is just them wanting information that your doc won't provide.

They call me many time and leave messages " this is importance things, please call back this number 1-866-269-4500. Good thing I check in google and not call back to them. Still wonder why they got my phone even registered Do not Call? Thanks information from google.

On my caller ID it showed up as 1-801-256-8999 "but" on the message they left, they (she) gave their name as "RJ" and said to re-call 1-866-269-4500 as soon as possible...they would be available 24 hours a day 7 days a week......

So after reading the other posts on here below this message, I decided to report this call and info to you.

I am on a "do not call" list.....so why are they calling?

Just called today - automated message.  I called back and it was Aetna Insurance - could not explain to me how they got my number and why they were calling a "Do Not Call" number.

It is Aetna's disease management program.  If you get prescriptions filled for high cholesterol, high blood pressure, or any other chronic disease, they will contact you about enrolling.  They monitor your care and coach you on diet, etc.

Got a call from this #.  Answered & hung up.  If it from Aetna, they should display their name....came up as toll free call on my caller id.

This number 866.269.4560 called my parents who are in their late 80's wanting them to give them the Atena number on their card etc.  My parents told them they could not hear them clearly and to talk to their daughter.  I have called 4 times and left messages for someone to call me back.  Nothing.  I am very suspicious.

Received this unsolicited call from 866-269-4500 on my government phone number (on file with the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY) regarding health insurance - NOT my insurance company.

They are totally legitimate if you have Aetna.  The do-not call list doesn't apply b/c you have a business relationship with Aetna already.  It's a very helpful service but if you're not interested, tell them that.

Got a voicemail from them claiming to be calling me on behalf of my "employer" regarding my appointment on July 24. I do not have an appointment on July 24, therefore I became suspicious and I will not be calling them back.

When I called Aetna they said it is a scam--- don't give them any info

This company has called multiple times, leaving messages for someone I do not know.   They identify themselves as Aetna and are trying to sell upgrades to existing insurance policies.  When I called them back to let them know they had the wrong number, I was told there was nothing they could do unless I provided my name and date of birth.   When I refused, they said the calls would continue unless I became a customer.   I verified that the number is actually a genuine Aetna number; however, they are apparently resorting to the same level of telemarketing fraud as the typical fly-by-night scammers.
