Not good timing for telemarketing success - CI was expecting a call from a number I wouldn't recognize, so I answered when this one called. It was not the call I was expecting. It was Spectrum trying to sell me additional services I do not want. After I told the man no, he said "would you like to be removed from....(click he hung up on me)" or maybe I'm just supposed to think we got disconnected? Anyway, they have called again twice more since that first call a few days ago.

- Red OscarI have received 2 calls in 2 days from this number. I don't answer unknown callers and if they don't leave a voicemail, I research. Glad to learn this is probably Spectrum. They have been trying to upsell me for months now. I'll just add this number to my do not answer list. The Spectrum "list" is getting really long, LOL.

- Domenic CalabreseThey call relentlessly. how I got it to stop is just call back and they will hook you up to someone. Explain that you want these calls to stop and he said they were calling to promote such and such. I told him that i am happy with their internet service, but want nothing more. They act like they didnt hear you and try to sell you again. It is being recorded so simply say "i tooam recording this call and am on record asking again for these calls to stop" He shut his mouth right away after that. Hope this helps.

- ChuckThis call came from Spectrum, whom I've asked to stop calling numerous times & have notified the FTC that they haven't. However, being they're [somewhat] in the telecommunications industry, knows how to switch phone numbers from wherever. Sometimes portraying as the same area code as mine, followed by the next three digits & one or two out of the last four, if available. I know it's them, because Google is a powerful search engine & if they've used the number, then others has already reported. What they don't do is disclose the name of their business on the Caller ID (number only) & often violates the rules, sometimes calling as much as an hour before & well over an hour after allowed times for telemarketers/debt collectors. I don't owe them a red cent, other than my monthly EarthLink bill, which is always paid at least a week before due date.
The FTC seems helpless to stop them, although being a Federal government agency, should be able to give (mandate) orders telling to stop calling those who doesn't want these or face prison and/or a civil fine per offense, plus any class action lawsuit settlement. Every time I pick up the phone, they hang up, not giving me the chance to tell them to not call anymore, therefore, seems to be more of a prank than a business call & will mark them as such until they'll speak with me. Five more times, will mark as 'Unsafe/Scammer', maybe that'll get their attention.
Spectrum doesn't realize they're not the only ISP in this area & if they keep messing with me, will find themselves with a lost customer. These acts (calling from all over the US & hiding name of business) should be a Federal crime with prison terms (minimum 5 years per offense) and/or large fines imposed ($350,000 per violation, with $100,000 of that going to the one called). They & other like corporations will clean their act up very fast if tougher laws were adopted & enforce those on the books (times not allowed to call). I have records of every call they've made in the last year, haven't deleted the first one. 25% or more were outside of allowed time frames, as determined by the FTC.- Caller: Spectrum (or impersonator)
