Received a call on my cell.  I do not answer numbers that I do not recognize.  I immediately came here to check the number and now am glad I did not answer.  My cell is on the federal and Florida do not call lists.  I have no debt, have owned this phone number for a decade (so not from a previous owner of the number), so there is no reason I should receive a call from them.  BLOCKED.

They have been calling my parents house repeatedly and when I called them back a ms Delaney hung up on me. So I tried to call back another 5 times and guess what , a ms Delaney hung up on me the other 5 times I called! 6 calls = 6 hang ups by a ms Delaney. I'm Getting really fed up. I'm Never calling back and that's their problem because I tried!  And I find the actions of this ms Delaney very disrespectful and I don't believe I deserve such disrespect.

Remember there is legislation in place that will 'statute bar' all consumer debts after a certain # of years as long as you do not admit to the debt nor make a voluntary payment (garnishment is not a voluntary payment). If you do either, then the clock literally starts again. So if your debt is more than 2 years old and you have not admitted nor paid anything then it is expunged. However, you must take the next step to have it removed from your credit report. Alleged debts are sold and bought over and over again by these vultures in hopes that you admit and/or make a payment on an old debt. Ignore them and their letters (if it's that important why are they never never 'registered' letters?)

'Ontario Statute of Limitation on Debt'.....look it up. It was amended in January 2004.

They called just now, was an automated number saying it was Global and there was an urgent matter that needs to be dealt with, if we don't call back and rectify matter they assume we aren't planning on dealing with the matter.
Gave an address .. said it too fast but it is Ontario (I'm in BC)

No idea why they're calling.  In fact, if  they truly want a call back they should really be more specific on the details. Dumb.

I have received the same phone calls for the last few days.  I spoke to some guy who said the he was from the Global Collection Agency and was very shifty in relaying his basically, a threat, that something bad would happen if I did not deal with my debt right away.  Then he asked for personal information, and I just hung up the phone.  They have called a few times, and left voice messages, with the same gist.

When I called them back, the answering machine doesn't give any particular name for their company.  Just that I am supposed to leave alot of detailed information, and saying that an AGENT will get back to me within the next 24 hours.

AND, they called me on my cell phone.... would LOVE to know where they mined that from....

I am pretty sure they are not a legitimate debt collector... SOMETHING needs to be done about companies like these who use scare tactics.

Seems to be a real but poorly run collection agency. Multiple times a day we get phone calls from them and it's always one of the following:

    1) Pre-recorded vague threatening message (woman's voice) that sounds like it was recorded on tape back in the 90s and converted to MP3 after someone bought it at a garage sale.

    2) Some angry male caller talking way too fast so all his words blur together. Are you phoning us before you leave for lunch? Are you their only employee? Learn to talk on the phone!

We've gotten phone calls from this tinpot organization ranging from 6:30 am pacific time to about 10 at night. Do they not know how to tell time? Can someone send them a clock please?

This is a scam. I got this number somehow when I was trying to call Amazon for Kindle support. The caller sounded foreign and tried to get me to give him all kinds of info.  Finally he a said that my Kindle problem was due to hackers and I needed to get a third party (him) to de bug my system. This was after he wanted to get remote access to my computer. Bad people.

We get lots of calls from these people. They hang up or leave terrible garbled messages as described above by others. My advice is get a credit report from a place like Transunion and ignore places like this. If they are a legit company than they're the worst run company I've ever dealt with.

I've dealt with these people. They're very sneaky. If you do have a debt they've bought off someone, they'll do whatever they can to get you to admit to it. "Why did you spend so much then?", she's asked me more than once. I hang up then. She calls back, but I refuse to give her anything but the required information. After reading all this (and getting a call today that simply said, "You have a right to know what status your situation is at"), I'm done with them.

By the way, their threats are all very superficial. "Your credit will be affected." Too late, dude. "We will get in contact with [the original debtor] and they will have the right to take you to court." Good luck with that. You bought the account off the original debtor. It's yours now. Have fun with it.

1-905-413-8597 rang, with the long distance ring.  Did not answer as I did not recognize the number.  However they left a message stating they were calling about a personal obligation that they have authorization from their client to set terms.  They are called Affglo  which apparently is a new name for their Credit Collection company.  They were formerly Global Collection and the general manager Allen L.  They are located supposed at 1490 Denison Street in Markham, Ont.

    Another annoyed person
just received the message from this number.  They are looking for a Jag Dala (no one by that name in this household) and apparently they have left several messages and calls to try to resolve this matter..(this is the first message that I have received)...... They did acknowledge they were from Afglo and their location at 1490 Denison Street in Markham, Ont.  Funny since this number they called is an unlisted number that we obtained in December and it is a brand new area code........Hence I won't be calling back.

Solve that problem by not allowing unknown callers to leave messages if you're able. A phone number that has no kind of answer will be lost quicker than one that always does. If you don't know the number, let the phone ring. The calls continue because there's some kind of answer from your number.

    Frustrated
Called my cell phone this morning.  Taped messaged that started at the end, then looped back to the beginning.  Said it was a message from Afglo for someone named Ashley (not me) and gave a file number to cite when calling back.  Number came up on my phone as 450-954-1243 (from Sorel, Quebec) but caller said to call 866-279-7956 and office was located at 1490 Dennison in Markham, ON.  No idea who these people are.

    Just stop already
This company has called me for months from Florida phone numbers and recently started calling from blocked numbers. The first calls they were trying to fish information about someone with the same first name but different last name. The other calls they always say “impending legal action.” The last call I told them I had already asked them to remove my family’s phone numbers and he said “the reason we are calling is because you sound just like her.” How creepy is that? I said no one takes a fake debt and matches it to a voice. If you call again I’m calling the police. So, they called again and I didn’t answer so they would leave an actual phone number- this is the same number mentioned in other posts. Still no company name left by them!

At least two calls a day, often outside of business hours; more often if I hang up on the automated message on the other end.
