The number is connected to a Telemarketing company in Toronto (see previous posts on this message board),RBC are obviously using them to promote their products.

One way to consider doing something about this harrassment would be to contact 'reputable' companies like RBC that are using businesses like this one; and let them know we don't appreciate the way conduct themselves, if they lose business as a result, then just maybe they would change their ways.....

Probably not - it would take a VAST number of people to bother with it in order to make it effective :(

I am not sure that I would like to give them my phone: if there are so unprofessional with their phone calls, how can I trust to give any information on that website

J'ai reçu un appel par jour toute la semaine sans interlocuteur à l'autre bout de la ligne, j'ai vérifié le # d'appel et c'est ce numéro 866-289-4409.
C'est vraiment harcelant...

Did you try this?  Did it actually work?  They call so often I'm scared their "no call" is just a way to confirm my # and keep spamming me!

What is the point of this call????  I answer....all I get is dead air.  What a dumb [***] company....I wish they would stop calling!  They keep waking me up!!!!!!

It's legitimate to put your number down on their "don't call list" -- they are legally obligated to provide this option, and they MUST by federal law respect your wishes not to be called.
