i got text message saying it is verizon and my account is about to get excessive charges. i went on line and i am not even close.i called the number back and they say they are verizon. i hung up

Got the same overage charge message as Annabe - I don't have limits on my plan. This is some kind of scam.

I got a phony text message. Said they were VZW and I was about to incur overage charges. I didn't fall for it and called 611 instead. This is a phishing attack. Ignore these [***]!

This is a legit text from a branch of Verizon. They will text you before you run out of minutes or use your limit of texts.  It is only in regard to overages not billing or anything.  They fixed some problems I was having.

I have no TXT limits and I am nowhere near my limit on minutes, especially since I am at the beginning of a billing cycle. This is a phishing scam.

I got a txt from this number that was posing as an official Verizon text message. Google the phone number and see how often it's been used in phone marketing.

I called Verizon using another 800 number and the overage was on my txt so it is legit.
